Enshrouded Biome Progression Order — All 6 Regions

4 min read

Looking for the table view? Our biome leveling guide lays out the same progression as a comparative table + per-biome milestone checklists. This guide is the narrative version — first-person notes from playthrough, how the world graph actually branches, and why the level ranges imply the order they do.

Embervale's six biomes are not linearly gated — the world graph branches out from Springlands rather than running a single corridor. This guide lays out the progression order the level ranges actually imply, and how each biome connects to its neighbours.

Enshrouded Biome Progression Order — All 6 Regions

The correct biome order at a glance

The short answer, sorted by the level band each biome expects. Branching is allowed, but the level + Flame gates enforce this soft order. Each row below expands into a full narrative section further down.

Why this order, not the in-game UI order

Keen Games ships the biome UI in alphabetical-ish layout, not progression. We sort by first-level of the level range, which puts Springlands first (you start there) and Veilwater Basin last (level 35-45, Flame 8-9).

If you want the visual graph, the biome hub lays it out side-by-side with the connections highlighted.

The 5-step routine for every new biome

Knowing the order is half of it — the other half is a repeatable routine for the *moment you arrive* somewhere new. Run these five in order and a fresh biome stops being overwhelming.

  1. Unlock the Ancient Spire first. It reveals the biome's map — Obelisks, Shroud Roots and Flame Shrines all light up, so everything after this goes faster.
  2. Gather the new materials + recipes. Each biome introduces its own tier of resources; grab them early so the Blacksmith / Alchemist / Carpenter can unlock the next crafting tier.
  3. Upgrade your tools and gear to the new tier before pushing deeper — an under-tiered pickaxe can't harvest the biome's nodes, and under-tiered armour gets you one-shot.
  4. Level up and feed the Flame Altar. Raising Flame Level unlocks the biome's workbench tiers and pushes back the Shroud timer so you can survive its fog.
  5. Then explore. With the Spire mapped, materials flowing and gear upgraded, go find the elixir wells, chests and side content — that's where the biome's real rewards are.

FAQ

What's the correct biome order in Enshrouded?

Springlands (1-10) → Revelwood (10-20) → Nomad Highlands (15-25) → Kindlewastes (20-30) → Albaneve Summits (25-35) → Veilwater Basin (35-45). Branching is allowed but the level gates and Flame Level requirements enforce a soft order.

Where is Revelwood in Enshrouded?

North-west of Springlands. The two are directly connected; you can walk through without unlocking fast-travel. Detail on the Revelwood biome page.

What's the hardest biome in Enshrouded?

Veilwater Basin (35-45) by raw level. Albaneve Summits is harder per-encounter because of the Cyclops + Fell Dragon Youngling boss density. See the biome hub for the full progression table.

Can I skip biomes?

Mechanically yes, practically no. Flame Level gates are tied to specific biome quests; skipping past Kindlewastes for example will lock you out of mid-tier crafting until you back-fill.
