Every Arrow in Enshrouded: Types & What to Craft

Verified for 1.05 min read

Craft the plain arrow that matches your bow's level, then add one special arrow for the job. The Hunter makes a ladder of nine plain arrows from the Wooden Arrow (level 3) to the Celestium Arrow (level 47); poison, explosive, Shroud, stun and blunt arrows are made from them. The 11 Eternal Arrows have their own guide.

Every bow needs ammunition, and the files list 44 named arrows. Most of them differ by a few levels of the same idea, so this page sorts them by what they are for instead of listing them in file order: first the plain arrows you will shoot most, then the special ones.

Facts come from the 1.0 game files. The files do not hold the damage number the game shows (every arrow but the Stun Arrow has the same damage multiplier, 0.5), so nothing here is ranked by damage. Pick by level, by damage type and by job.

The plain arrow ladder

The bulk of your shooting is plain piercing arrows. Each rung is tipped with a better metal and comes at a higher level, so move up as your bow level rises. The Hunter crafts every rung but the first; the Wooden Arrow is made by hand from twigs. Ordinary arrows stack to 500. The last column is the craft: its materials and the number of arrows it gives.

Three side arrows

Obsidian Arrow (level 30, 50% Cutting + 50% Piercing); Moonstone Arrow (level 47, 50% Cutting + 50% Piercing); Fossilized Bone Arrow (level 17, 50% Cutting + 50% Piercing). They split their damage between cutting and piercing instead of all piercing. They fill gaps between rungs; the ladder above is the main line.

Poisoned arrows

Each metal has a poisoned twin: 6 Poisoned Arrows, half piercing and half poison damage. The game's text says what the poison adds: the lowest, Poisoned Copper Arrow, does 8 damage a second for 5 seconds; the highest, Poisoned Celestium Arrow, does 30.

They are not made from raw materials. Each craft starts from 25 of the matching plain arrows plus a poison ingredient, and gives 25: Poisoned Copper Arrow (level 15), Poisoned Bronze Arrow (level 20), Poisoned Iron Arrow (level 27), Poisoned Steel Arrow (level 35), Poisoned Golden Steel Arrow (level 44), Poisoned Celestium Arrow (level 50). So you craft the plain stack first.

Explosive arrows

4 fire arrows with an area effect: Explosive Arrow I (level 15), Explosive Arrow II (level 27), Explosive Arrow III (level 44), Exploding Arrow IV (level 50). Their text is short (“A Special Arrow that delivers an explosive surprise”), but the files give them an area effect and far more terrain damage than a plain arrow has. They are made from 25 Flint Arrows plus materials; the recipe for Explosive Arrow I is 25× Flint Arrow, 10× Tar, 5× Lump of Clay.

Use them against groups. Against one target, a plain arrow of the same level is cheaper.

Shroud, bone and blunt arrows

Shroud Arrows (Shroud Arrow I, level 15; Shroud Arrow II, level 35; Shroud Arrow III, level 50) deal Shroud damage and disperse a cloud of it on impact: use them on enemies that take extra Shroud damage, which the weakness chart in the enemies section shows.

Bone arrows are blunt damage and, per the game's text, “pierce hit targets to harm multiple foes”. The Collector crafts them: Bone Arrow (15), Giant Bone Arrow I (20), Giant Bone Arrow II (27), Giant Bone Arrow III (35), Giant Bone Arrow IV (38). The Blunt Arrow (level 47, from the Hunter) is the late blunt option.

Stun and flare arrows

The Stun Arrow (level 20) is the odd one: it deals little damage but hits the target with massive force to increase the enemies' Stun Bar until they eventually become overpowered. Its damage multiplier is 0.1, a fifth of the others'. Use it to open an enemy for a Merciless Attack, the melee finisher that hits an overpowered enemy; see the skill tree.

The Flare Arrow (level 10) “leaves a flare at the point of impact” for scouting in the dark. The files list no damage type for it.

What to carry

Our advice, built on the rules above, not a file value: one stack of the best plain arrow your level allows, one stack of its poisoned twin for tough single targets, and a handful of explosive arrows for groups. Add Stun Arrows only if you fight with Merciless Attacks.

Once you have the Mana for it, swap the plain stack for an Eternal Arrow and keep the plain stack as a fallback: see how to get Eternal Arrows. Bows are listed under bows, and all 44 arrows are in the weapon database. Which survivor to rescue first for crafting: the quest order.
