One-handed axes in Enshrouded are the heavy single-hand Warrior pick — slower than swords but with stronger stagger and a higher base damage roll. They scale with STR (Strength) and live in the Warrior skill tree alongside 1H swords. The axe's wedge is stagger uptime: heavy attacks reliably interrupt enemy windups, which converts boss fights from "dodge-and-counter" rhythms into sustained pressure windows. As a slot priority 1H axes are A-tier — they trade some shield uptime for damage compared to swords, so the Sword & Board Tank usually picks sword over axe.
