  • “The area sits between Blackmire and Veilwater Basin in terms of size, and brings 12 new Shroud Roots.”

How biome progression works

Each region opens with a Flame upgrade, and its enemies get stronger along the way. The order, the level of every region, the cost of every upgrade and the Shroud Roots in each are in the progression guide.

Progression order

Sorted by intended play order — Springlands first, Veilwater Basin last. Difficulty band describes how the biome compares to the rest of Embervale, not how lethal it is on its own.

Biome progression FAQ

What order should you do biomes in Enshrouded?
Springlands (enemies mostly Lv 3–9) → Revelwood (enemies mostly Lv 11–15) → Nomad Highlands (enemies mostly Lv 16–20) → Kindlewastes (enemies mostly Lv 21–27) → Albaneve Summits (enemies mostly Lv 28–35) → Veilwater Basin (enemies mostly Lv 37–45) → Cinder's Cradle (enemies mostly Lv 46–50). Levels are the spawn levels in the 1.0 game files; each region opens with a Flame upgrade, so this is also the Flame order.
What is the best biome for leveling in Enshrouded?
The one whose enemies match your level. In the 1.0 files the typical enemy is level 5 in Springlands, 13 in Revelwood, 18 in Nomad Highlands, 25 in Kindlewastes, 32 in Albaneve Summits, 41 in Veilwater Basin, 48 in Cinder's Cradle.
How do you progress to the next biome in Enshrouded?
Upgrade the Flame: each upgrade's recipe opens a region (Flame 5 opens Kindlewastes, Flame 8 Veilwater Basin, Flame 10 Cinder's Cradle). The materials each upgrade needs are in the progression guide.
What is the Flame Level in Enshrouded?
The level of your Flame, raised at the Flame Altar with an upgrade recipe. 1.0 has 11 Flame levels; each upgrade opens a region, and upgrading also unlocks the next tier's armor sets.
What is the final biome in Enshrouded?
Cinder's Cradle, new in 1.0: typical enemies are level 48 (mostly 46–50), it opens at Flame 10, and Lord Vorgoth is fought there.
Should I level up before entering a new biome?
Compare your level with the region's enemies: Springlands is mostly level 3–9, Cinder's Cradle 46–50. The progression guide lists every region's band and its 60 Shroud Roots and 18 Elixir Wells, which give skill points without levelling.
