Sword Of The SerpentT2 · EpicRanked by 10 × gear tier (1–7) + rarity step (Common 0 · Uncommon 1 · Rare 2 · Epic 3 · Legendary 4): the game's progression tier first, rarity to break ties inside a tier. The letters are the Palworld tier lists' bands of that score — top 5 % S, top 20 % A, top half B, top 80 % C, the rest D — counted within the slot you pick, so a ring is banded among rings.
What it does not measure: damage. A weapon's displayed damage is not in the server files, its damage multiplier is set per weapon class, and most uniques scale over item level 1–55 — so two items in one band can still differ a lot at your level. Treat a letter as “how late and how rare”, then open the item.
Pins: the 1.0 placement index (pickups on the ground). Items not listed here are not placed objects in the files.
The files do not name the sets. Each set's items share a gear tier, and the game numbers its regions with the same tiers — its pickaxes carry both in their ids, from Tool_T1_…_Grassland (Springlands) to Tool_T7_…_Ancientlands (Cinder's Cradle). Where a placed item lies in the set's region, that confirms it; the table says which.
| Set | Region tier | Items | Placed items lie in | Set XP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Springlandsconfirmed by a placed item | 9 | Springlands (1), Revelwood (1) | 500 |
| Tier 2 | Revelwoodtier only | 8 | Blackmire (1) | 600 |
| Tier 3 | Nomad Highlandstier only | 6 | none | 700 |
| Tier 4 | Kindlewastesconfirmed by a placed item | 4 | Kindlewastes (1) | 800 |
| Tier 5 | Albaneve Summitsconfirmed by a placed item | 11 | Albaneve Summits (3) | 900 |
| Tier 6 | Veilwater Basinconfirmed by a placed item | 8 | Veilwater Basin (2) | 1000 |
| Tier 7 | Cinder's Cradletier only | 5 | none | 2200 |

“An axe found atop the skull of a giant dragon skeleton. Legends say it was used to slay the mother dragon, but it wasn't lodged inside her cranium when you found it. That's probably for the best. Mothers have enough headaches already.”
“A one-handed axe, family heirloom of the Dimwealds. This weapon belonged to Lando, the secondborn. He was loyal to the end.”
“A mighty hammer, family heirloom of the Dimwealds. This weapon belonged to Berhtolf, the firstborn son. Bravery was his downfall.”
