Shield builds in Enshrouded are the front-line tank archetype — Bash, Shockwave, Tank sub-tree's shield-block scaling, plus heavy armour proficiency. The wedge is parrying: a successful parry opens enemies to crit follow-ups, making block-spec Warriors the best aggro-holders in co-op Hollow Halls runs. Solo shield builds trade damage for near-immortality — Sword & Board Tank cleared every biome at character level 35-40 without dying once.

In co-op the shield is the aggro magnet that lets your DPS team work.
