Enshrouded Ranger Skill Tree

Bow + dagger specialists. DEX + Endurance core, kite with Runner + Skill Shot, finish with Marksman + Sniper.

About the Ranger archetype

Ranger is one of the three class areas of Enshrouded's 1.0 skill tree, Warrior, Ranger and Mage, which hang off a Core that every build can reach. There is no class to pick: a Ranger is a character that spends its points here. The area holds 57 skills and 15 attribute pips, and the pips raise Endurance and Dexterity.

The weapon specialization nodes here are Bow Specialization and Dagger Specialization.

Its nodes cover bows and daggers, sneak attacks, and getting around: gliding, climbing, sprinting.

Hallmark skills

  • Bow Specialization — Active skill, 3 points. Pre-1.0 wiki: “Unlocks Special Abilities of Bows.” In 2 of our builds: Ranger Sniper and Multi-Shot Bowmaster.
  • Dagger Specialization — Active skill, 3 points. Pre-1.0 wiki: “Unlocks Special Abilities of Daggers.” In our Assassin Dual Blades build.
  • Marksman — Passive, 1 point per rank, 3 ranks. Value in the 1.0 files: 5% per rank. Pre-1.0 wiki: “All damage dealt with ranged weapons is increased by 10%” In 4 of our builds: Ranger Sniper, Multi-Shot Bowmaster, Starter — First 10 Levels and Solo Adventurer Hybrid.
  • Multi Shot — Active skill, 4 points. Pre-1.0 wiki: “When using regular arrows there is a 20% chance to spawn a flurry of arrows that spread slightly.” In our Multi-Shot Bowmaster build.
  • Sneak Attack — Active skill, 3 points. In our Assassin Dual Blades build.

Our builds that spend every point in the Ranger: Multi-Shot Bowmaster (48), Ranger Sniper (39) and Assassin Dual Blades (38). Builds that mix the Ranger with another area: Solo Adventurer Hybrid (13 Ranger, 13 Mage, 11 Warrior, 2 Core) and Starter — First 10 Levels (8 Mage, 7 Warrior, 2 Ranger, 1 Core).

The numbers are skill points, read from each build's tree.

Nothing locks you into Ranger: you can respec. Keen Games, Souls of the Frozen Frontier notes (2024-11-05): “Each spent skill point costs 1 rune.”

Ranger starter builds by level

The order our Ranger Sniper build buys its nodes in, cut every 5 levels. Levels count level-ups alone, 2 points each; Shroud Roots and Elixir Wells get you there sooner.

Each step opens in the planner with everything bought so far.

  • Marksman ×3, 2 Dexterity pips. 5 of the build's 39 points.

  • Sniper ×3, Counter Battery, Skill Shot ×3, Bow Specialization. 18 of the build's 39 points.

  • Vitality Surge ×2, Fatal Precision ×2, Runner, Swiftshot Sustenance, 2 Endurance pips, 1 Dexterity pip. 27 of the build's 39 points.

  • Rebound, Ranger, Eagle Eye, Airborne, Veiled Vigor, 2 Dexterity pips, 1 Endurance pip. That is the whole Ranger Sniper build: 39 points.

Ranger sub-trees (4)

The pre-1.0 wiki split Ranger into 4 sub-trees; 1.0 has none. Each page shows where that group’s skills sit on the 1.0 tree and which of our builds play the role.
