Gear

Only weapons and sets we can match to an item in the 1.0 game files. Tiers come from those files; a “likely match” agrees on 4–5 of 5 perk slots rather than all of them.

FAQ

Is the Ranger Sniper viable solo?
Yes. It is a pure Ranger allocation — 39 points, complete by level 21 — with Veiled Vigor for health, Runner for cheaper, faster sprinting and Rebound for faster stamina regeneration (their pre-1.0 descriptions), so the points left over at higher levels can go into Constitution or Endurance.
Best bow for the Ranger Sniper build?
Talion's Bow, Draconian Bow and Dragon's Wing are the bows the 1.0 files carry at several tiers, so each can be upgraded as you level. Arsonist's Bow is the early option.
Do I need to invest in any Mage skills?
No. Every node in this build is in the Ranger part of the tree, plus the attribute pips on the way.
How do I survive boss fights?
Keep your distance. By their pre-1.0 descriptions, Runner makes sprinting cost less stamina and go faster, Rebound speeds up stamina regeneration, Vitality Surge gives stamina back on a ranged crit, and Veiled Vigor adds health from Dexterity; the 1.0 files keep all four with new values (the key-skill cards above).
