Gear

Only weapons and sets we can match to an item in the 1.0 game files. Tiers come from those files; a “likely match” agrees on 4–5 of 5 perk slots rather than all of them.

FAQ

Fire bow or ice bow?
The 1.0 files give Phoenix Bow three Magic Fire Damage perks, Dragon's Strength and Critical Strike Chance, and Bow Of The Twin Moons three Magic Ice Damage perks with Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage. Both are Legendary and roll at item levels 1 to 55. The loadout below wears the fire bow first and the ice bow second; the files do not measure which is stronger against a given enemy, so this page does not rank them.
Why does the tree have no Arsonist or Iceman?
Both are in the Mage part of the tree and this build is Ranger only. The 1.0 files do not say whether they raise the Magic Fire Damage or Magic Ice Damage perk of a bow, so the build does not spend on them. The bow skills it owns, such as Marksman (damage with bows) and Sniper (critical strike chance with bows), apply to any bow.
Which arrows go with an elemental bow?
The 1.0 files hold eternal fire, ice and shock arrows at several item levels, and explosive arrows; the Ranger Sniper page lists them with their damage type and tier in its Shell Shock and elemental arrows section.
Elemental Archer vs Ranger Sniper?
Both take Marksman, Sniper, Skill Shot, Bow Specialization, Vitality Surge and Fatal Precision. The Elemental Archer also takes Ranger and Rebound at full rank and Bee Sting, and spends 50 points against the Sniper's 39; its gear is the difference, an element bow instead of the lore bows.
When does the Elemental Archer come online?
The whole build is 50 points, complete by level 26 from level-ups alone. Marksman and Sniper at full rank are affordable by level 7.
