Enshrouded Dragon Cave & Fell Dragon Youngling
The Dragon Cave and the Fell Dragon Youngling are not the same place. The Dragon Cave is a cave passage in the Nomad Highlands (5345, 2092) with 6 chests around it. The Fell Dragon Youngling is a boss the 1.0 files place once, at Howling Peak in the Albaneve Summits (7854, 6052). You wake it by lighting all 8 Balefires (main quest "Slaying The Corrupted Beast"), it takes extra damage from Fire 120% and drops 5× Shroud Core, 81× Runes, Fell Dragon Youngling Head.

Players search for the two together, and the files keep them apart. This page takes the cave first, then the boss, so you can tell which you are after.
Step 1: The Dragon Cave
The map pin reads: "The Dragon Cave, for the quest Rumors Of The Dragon Cave." It is in the Nomad Highlands at 5345, 2092 (open it on the map). The files hold no boss at this pin.
Within 150 m there are 6 chests (2 gold, 1 silver, 3 wooden), and within 250 m 60 mining containers and 27 camp spawn points (11 Scavenger, 7 Vukah, 9 Hollow), so bring food and expect a fight on the way. The nearest fast-travel platform is 265 m away. The Nomad Highlands's usual enemy level is 18 (16–20). A Sharp Shark Tooth fossil lies in a side passage of the cave.
Step 2: Reach Howling Peak
The Fell Dragon Youngling is the target of the main quest Slaying The Corrupted Beast, in the Albaneve Summits. The Flame has tasked you to slay the corrupted beast that dwells inside Howling Peak. The journal's steps:
- Reach The First Balefire. The Flame has tasked you to slay the corrupted beast that dwells inside Howling Peak. (Balefire Garrison "Silkfrost")
- Light The First Balefire. You've reached the first location that holds a balefire.
- Find And Light All Balefires. You've lit the first balefire, but your journey has just begun.
- Challenge The Beast On Howling Peak. You woke the beast by lighting all balefires! (Howling Peak)
Plan the route
Balefires sit in Scavenger, Spider and Bat camps; see the Balefire map. The Albaneve Summits's usual enemy level is 32 (28–35). The journal says Howling Peak is best reached through Everfrore Keep.
Step 3: Fight the Youngling
What the files say about the fight. The boss's own page is Fell Dragon Youngling.
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| Weak to | Fire 120% |
| Takes less from | Shroud immune, Poison 90% |
| Level | not stored |
| Attacks in its template | 13 |
| Can block | Yes |
| Extra health per extra player | 90% |
From the journal
Howling Peak is best reached by passing through Everfrore Keep.
Step 4: Drops and loot nearby
The Wiki's loot table for the Youngling (CC BY-SA): 5× Shroud Core, 81× Runes, 1× Fell Dragon Youngling Head. The Head matters: the Flame upgrade from level 7 to 8 takes 1 of it. Around the peak the map places only 1 chest within 150 m, so the fight is for the Head, not the chests.
What the files do not say
Not in the files: the Youngling's hit points (the game derives them from the level), what each of its attacks looks like, and anything inside the Dragon Cave besides the chests and the fossil.
