All Enshrouded Building Blocks & How to Get Them

There are 74 building blocks in the 1.0 files and every one has a Workbench recipe: one craft makes 100 blocks (50 for a roof block), takes no time and costs 1 to 4 materials, so finding a block means finding its materials. The game sorts them into 7 sets from rough wood and stone (Set 1) to ancient stone (Set 7). The only exceptions are two column blocks, which need the Carpenter's Masonry Tools.

This page is the catalogue: what each block is called, which set it belongs to and what it costs. How a base works (Flame Altar zones, caps, storage and water) is in the base building guide.

Every recipe below comes from the 1.0 game files. The files tell us the recipe of each block; they do not tell us which blocks need a quest or an item to appear in your Workbench in the first place, so we say which unlocks we can source and which we cannot.

How to get any block

The same four steps work for all 74.

Place a Workbench. Every block recipe in the files belongs to it.
Pick the block and read its inputs. The tables below list them. Blocks use 1 to 4 inputs, and some take "any of" a group of materials (the Iron Block takes five of any log, for example).
Bring the materials. Where we have a page for an input, it is linked in the tables below and says where to find it. Set 1 is plain wood and stone; the later sets ask for rarer materials such as bars, glass and the T7 stones.
Craft. All 74 recipes are instant and give 100 blocks (50 for roofs), so one stack of materials goes a long way.

The seven block sets

The game's journal groups the blocks into 7 sets and gives each set an XP value (50 XP for Set 1, 200 XP for Set 7). The sets are the easiest way to find your next block: finish the ones you can reach, then step up.

Columns and the Masonry Tools quest

Two blocks are not Workbench blocks. The Ancient Column Block and Stone Column Block are made at the Carpenter's Decoration Workbench (10× Basalt; 10× Stone, one block per craft) and only while the Masonry Tools stand next to it.

The one block a quest hands out

The Carpenter's side quest Finding Gold Coins lists the Drak Temple Roof Block among its rewards. It sends you to the Drak'Dal Temple in the Veilwater Basin; the journal's steps are below. The files also list a plain Workbench recipe for that roof (10× Shell Limestone), and they do not say whether the recipe stays hidden until the quest is done. If it is missing from your Workbench, this is the quest to try.

What the files do not say

Not in the 1.0 files: whether a block recipe is locked behind a quest, a station upgrade or a find (only the two column blocks list a prop they need), and which region sells or drops which block. Where a block sits in the journal set is the game's; the order of regions is in the region order guide. If a block is missing from your Workbench, the quest order guide is the best place to look for the quest that opens it.
