Enshrouded Fort Kelvin: Location, Loot & Quests
Fort Kelvin is a ruined town in the Springlands at map position 4431, 2830; the map's pin says Vukah live there. It holds 16 chests (1 gold, 4 silver, 11 wooden), the villager Hannah Reed and three lore notes. As a base it fails our rule: 27 camp spawn points sit within 250 m (the rule allows 10), 22 of them Vukah, and the nearest fast-travel platform is 979 m away.

Fort Kelvin is a one-town question, so this page answers it for that town. For the best base spot in each region, see base locations on the map.
Step 1: Find Fort Kelvin
The map pin reads: "Village inhabited by Vukah." It is in the Springlands at 4431, 2830; open it on the map. The closest Ancient Spire is Ancient Spire - Revelwood (1026 m) and the closest fast-travel platform 979 m away, so expect a walk.
The usual enemy level in the Springlands is 5, the middle 80 % of its spawn points falling between 3 and 9 (1.0 server files, before party and difficulty scaling).
Step 2: What is in the town
Four things the files tie to Fort Kelvin:
- A survivor to rescue: Hannah Reed. The main quest We, The Only Ones (it comes after you rescue the Farmer's assistant Fenrig Mills, Jr.) sends you to a Lost Villager Soul here. The journal's own words: "You've found and rescued a farmer named Fenrig Mills. He wonders where everyone is. Before he passed, the town of Fort Kelvin was said to be a safe place for travelers." She is a villager and has no recipes of her own.
- 16 chests within 150 m of the pin: 1 gold, 4 silver, 11 wooden. Their loot is on the chest map.
- Three lore notes, "Welcome To Fort Kelvin": 1, 2, 3, and an Ammonite Imprint fossil in a small cave nearby.
- Two quests that name the town. Vukah Rituals Uncovered (main quest, from Marianne Reed) starts with "Investigate The Cliffside Near Fort Kelvin" and leads to the Sacrificial Vukah Pit in the Revelwood. The Lunar New Year event quest Lunar New Year Plants marks Fort Kelvin for its plants.
Step 3: Is it a good base?
Our base-locations guide picks spots by a rule: no more than 10 camp spawn points (Scavenger, Vukah, Drak, Hollow) within 250 m, then the most plants and mining containers. Fort Kelvin, measured the same way:
| Within 250 m | Fort Kelvin | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Camp spawn points | 27 (22 Vukah) | at most 10 |
| Plant placements | 163 | more is better |
| Mining containers | 0 | more is better |
| Nearest fast travel | 979 m | not scored |
Verdict
By the rule it is out: the Vukah camp alone is more than twice the limit. The files do not say whether the ground is flat, whether it lies in the Shroud, or whether a Flame Altar fits, so those are not scored either.
What the files do not say
Not in the files: what the lore notes' story adds beyond their titles, any boss or named weapon in the town, and what the Vukah there carry.
