How breeding works in Palworld
  1. Unique combos 63 specific parent pairs always produce a fixed child (e.g., Relaxaurus + Sparkit → Relaxaurus Lux).
  2. Standard breeding the child's breeding power equals ⌊(Parent A + Parent B + 1) ÷ 2⌋. The calculator finds the eligible Pal whose own breeding power is closest to that value.
  3. Parent eligibility every catchable Pal can be a parent, including world bosses (Frostallion, Jetragon, Necromus, Paladius, Shadowbeak, Bellanoir, etc.).
  4. Non-eligible children (60) the formula will never produce these species directly. Most are obtainable only via unique combos or capture (regional variants like Mossanda Lux, world bosses, Bellanoir, etc.). Full list: Bastigor, Bellanoir, Bellanoir Libero, Blazehowl Noct, Broncherry Aqua, Caprity Noct, Celesdir, Cryolinx Terra, Dazemu, Dazzi Noct, Digtoise, Dinossom Lux, Dogen, Eikthyrdeer Terra, Elphidran Aqua, Faleris, Faleris Aqua, Felbat, Fenglope Lux, Foxparks Cryst, Frostallion, Frostallion Noct, Gobfin Ignis, Grizzbolt, Hangyu Cryst, Incineram Noct, Jetragon, Jolthog Cryst, Kelpsea Ignis, Kikit, Kingpaca Cryst, Kitsun Noct, Knocklem, Leezpunk Ignis, Loupmoon Cryst, Lyleen, Lyleen Noct, Mammorest Cryst, Mau Cryst, Mimog, Mossanda Lux, Necromus, Orserk, Paladius, Prixter, Quivern Botan, Relaxaurus Lux, Reptyro Cryst, Robinquill Terra, Selyne, Shadowbeak, Sootseer, Surfent Terra, Vanwyrm Cryst, Warsect Terra, Wumpo Botan, Xenogard, Xenolord, Xenovader, Yakumo.

Frequently asked

How does breeding work in Palworld?

Two Pals placed in a Breeding Farm produce a Pal Egg. The child's species is determined by a fixed formula on the parents' breeding power — or by a unique combo override (e.g., Relaxaurus + Sparkit always produces Relaxaurus Lux). Hatching the egg gives you the new Pal.

How does Pindrop's breeding calculator find the shortest path?

Pick a target child and the calculator searches every parent pair eligible to produce it, ranked by total breeding generations needed. Unique combos take priority since they're one-step. 63 unique parent-child combinations are baked in.

Does the calculator include passive skills (traits)?

Not yet. The calculator predicts the species of the child only. Passive skill inheritance follows separate rules (each parent passes one of its passives at random) and is on the roadmap.

Why are some children labeled "non-eligible"?

60 species can't be produced through standard breeding — they're obtainable only via unique combos, capture, or events. Examples include regional variants like Mossanda Lux, world bosses like Bellanoir, and the Frostallion / Jetragon / Necromus / Paladius / Shadowbeak roster.

Where do the breeding combos come from?

Breeding power values and the unique-combo overrides are extracted from Palworld's game files via blaynem/paldex. The formula is documented on palworld.wiki.gg — we link the reference at the bottom of this page.
