Palworld Breeding Calculator

Free Palworld breeding calculator with two complementary tools — a forward predictor (pick two parents → child) and a reverse target lookup (pick the child you want → all parent pairs that produce it). Every pair of 300 Pals is covered, with all 144 special combos overriding the usual power-average rule. No login, no ads.

New in Palworld 1.0: Cakes, Mutations & Awakening

The 1.0 update reworked breeding. Cakes now do more than start an egg, every egg can roll a rare mutated Pal, and finished Pals can be pushed past their stat cap with Awakening.

Breeding cakes

One Cake is still consumed per egg at the Breeding Farm. The four new specialty cakes change what that egg can roll:

CakeEffect
CakeRequired to breed — one consumed per egg.
Mushroom CakeRaises the chance the offspring is born with higher talent stats. Flour ×5 · Mushroom ×5 · Cavern Mushroom ×3 · Egg ×8 · Honey ×2 (Tech 30).
Vegetable CakeProduces two eggs per breeding batch instead of one. Flour ×8 · Tomato ×8 · Lettuce ×7 · Egg ×8 · Honey ×4 (Tech 47).
Extravagant Vegetable CakeRaises mutation chance from 1% to 3% and improves the talent roll — the pick for mutation farming. Flour ×12 · Cotton Candy ×8 · Potato ×10 · Onion ×6 · Carrot ×8 (Tech 60).
Special CakeMakes the child more likely to inherit several of its parents' passive skills. Flour ×20 · Caramel Cotton Candy ×8 · Milk ×15 · Egg ×15 · Mammorest Meat ×2 (Tech 74).

Base Cake recipe: Flour ×5 · Red Berries ×8 · Milk ×7 · Egg ×8 · Honey ×2 (Cooking Pot).

Mutations

Every standard egg has a 1% base chance to hatch a mutated Pal. Mutated Pals roll higher base stats than a normal child of the same pair and gain a unique passive skill that ordinary breeding can't produce. A Extravagant Vegetable Cake raises the odds to 3%.

Awakening

Awakening is a post-breeding upgrade, not part of the egg roll. Element-typed Radiant Gems — gathered in the endgame World Tree — are spent to push a finished Pal past its normal stat cap. Breed and mutate the line first, then Awaken the keepers.

Verified against Palworld 1.0. Mutation rate and cake effects are read from the 1.0 game data.

How breeding works in Palworld
  1. Unique combos 144 specific parent pairs always produce a fixed child (e.g., Relaxaurus + Sparkit → Relaxaurus Lux).
  2. Standard breeding the child's breeding power equals ⌊(Parent A + Parent B + 1) ÷ 2⌋. The calculator finds the eligible Pal whose own breeding power is closest to that value.
  3. Parent eligibility every catchable Pal can be a parent, including world bosses (Frostallion, Jetragon, Necromus, Paladius, Shadowbeak, Bellanoir, etc.).
  4. Non-eligible children (104) the formula will never produce these species directly. Most are obtainable only via unique combos or capture (regional variants like Mossanda Lux, world bosses, Bellanoir, etc.). Frequently asked

How does breeding work in Palworld?

Two Pals placed in a Breeding Farm produce a Pal Egg. The child's species is determined by a fixed formula on the parents' breeding power — or by a unique combo override (e.g., Relaxaurus + Sparkit always produces Relaxaurus Lux). Hatching the egg gives you the new Pal.

How does Pindrop's breeding calculator find the shortest path?

Pick a target child and the calculator searches every parent pair eligible to produce it, ranked by total breeding generations needed. Unique combos take priority since they're one-step. 144 unique parent-child combinations are baked in.

Does the calculator include passive skills (traits)?

Not yet — the calculator predicts the child's species only. Passive inheritance runs on its own rules: the child draws 1-4 passives from the pool both parents share (40% / 30% / 20% / 10%), then rolls 0-3 completely new ones on top (40% / 30% / 20% / 10%). So a passive neither parent has can still appear. Weights come from PalCalc's 1.0 game-file dump.

Why are some children labeled "non-eligible"?

104 species can't be produced through standard breeding — they're obtainable only via unique combos, capture, or events. Examples include regional variants like Mossanda Lux, world bosses like Bellanoir, and the Frostallion / Jetragon / Necromus / Paladius / Shadowbeak roster.

Where do the breeding combos come from?

Breeding power values and the unique-combo overrides come from PalCalc, an MIT-licensed dataset generated directly from Palworld's 1.0 game files. The formula is documented on palworld.wiki.gg — we link the reference at the bottom of this page.

How do mutations work in Palworld 1.0 breeding?

Each egg has a 1% base chance to hatch a mutated Pal with higher base stats and a unique passive skill that standard breeding can't roll. Feeding a Extravagant Vegetable Cake raises the mutation chance to 3%.

What do the new breeding cakes do in Palworld 1.0?

A base Cake is still required for every egg. Mushroom Cake improves the offspring's talent roll, Vegetable Cake produces two eggs per batch, Extravagant Vegetable Cake adds talent points plus mutation chance (1% → 3%), and Special Cake makes the child more likely to inherit several parent passives.
