Palworld Cake Recipe — How to Make Cake for Breeding

Cake is the key item you need for breeding in Palworld. The Breeding Farm consumes Cake from its chest each time Pals produce an egg.
The recipe calls for 5 different ingredients — Flour, Red Berries, Milk, Egg, and Honey — most of which you can produce passively with the right ranch Pals.

Crafting Stations for Cake
Four stations can produce Cake. The Cooking Pot is the earliest, unlocked at Tech Lv 17. Later stations cook faster.
Assign a Pal with the Kindling work suitability to the Cooking Pot so it operates automatically. Flambelle, Foxparks, and Arsox are common early-game choices.

Flour first
Flour is itself a crafted item: grind 3 Wheat at a Mill (Tech Lv 15) to get one Flour. You need 5 Flour per Cake, so plant Wheat Seeds at a Wheat Plantation and keep the Mill stocked.
Where to Get Each Ingredient
Three of the 5 Cake ingredients come from ranch Pals. Assign the right species to a Ranch structure at your base, and they will passively produce the items you need.
- Flour — Grow Wheat from Wheat Seeds at a Wheat Plantation, then grind 3 Wheat into Flour at a Mill (Tech Lv 15). Seeds are sold by merchants and dropped by several Grass-type Pals.
- Red Berries — Harvest from a Berry Plantation or pick wild bushes scattered across the starting zones. The Berry Plantation produces them continuously once built.
- Milk — Assign a Mozzarina to your ranch. Its partner skill, Milk Maker, generates Milk passively.
- Egg — Assign a Chikipi to your ranch. Its partner skill, Egg Layer, generates Eggs passively.
- Honey — Assign a Beegarde to your ranch. Its partner skill, Worker Bee, generates Honey passively. Elizabee also drops Honey when defeated.
Efficient Cake Farming Setup
To produce Cake continuously, set up a dedicated base with the following structures and Pals:
- Build a Ranch and assign Chikipi (Egg), Mozzarina (Milk), and Beegarde (Honey).
- Build a Wheat Plantation and a Berry Plantation to grow Wheat and Red Berries.
- Build a Mill to convert Wheat into Flour — you need 3 Wheat per Flour, and 5 Flour per Cake.
- Build a Cooking Pot (Tech Lv 17) and assign a Kindling Pal to automate cooking.
- Assign Pals with Gathering and Planting work suitabilities to keep plantations running and items moving into storage.
Honey is often the hardest ingredient to keep stocked. Consider assigning multiple Beegardes to your ranch if you are farming Cake in bulk.
How Cake Works in Breeding
The Breeding Farm, unlocked at Tech Lv 19, requires Cake to operate. Place a male and female Pal in the pen, then put Cake into the farm's storage chest. The Pals will produce eggs as long as Cake remains available.

Pals will keep breeding as long as Cake remains in the chest and there is room for eggs. Stock up before leaving your base.
FAQ
Do you need Cake to breed in Palworld?
Yes. The Breeding Farm will not produce eggs without Cake (or one of its variants like Mushroom Cake or Vegetable Cake) in the storage chest. Pals keep breeding until they run out of Cake or the farm is full of eggs.
What level do you unlock the Cooking Pot?
The Cooking Pot is unlocked at Technology Level 17. It is the earliest station that can craft Cake. The Electric Kitchen, unlocked at Tech Lv 41, is a faster upgrade available later.
Is there a faster way to make Cake?
