Palworld Sealed Realm Locations — All Bosses Guide

Sealed Realms in Palworld — dimensional portals guarded by elite Pals with unique drops

Sealed Realms are boss-arena encounters unlocked with stone keys. Each realm releases a unique high-level Pal of that species when you defeat the boss inside — a guaranteed capture for legendary or rare Pals.

The realm names below tell you which species you'll fight (e.g., “Sealed Realm of the Lord of the Underworld” → Anubis). Use the interactive map to plan your route by region.

Start here: 3 easiest realms

sorted by level ↑

Lowest-level realm bosses we can deep-link. Clear these three before chasing the level-55+ DLC realms in the table below.

Respawn + Pal Bounty Token gate

Respawn: 1 hour, sleep to skip

Once you defeat a realm boss, the realm enters a 1-hour respawn timer (single-player saves; dedicated servers run longer). Sleeping at a bed fast-forwards the timer, which is why a small loop of 3-4 realms + sleep is the fastest XP+Pal grind in the game.

Pal Bounty Tokens unlock higher realms

Some higher-level realms and Alpha-Pal areas are gated by Pal Bounty Tokens — drops you collect by defeating overworld Alpha Pals (one token per Alpha, first kill only). Each token also grants a permanent elemental damage bonus.

Fastest grind loop: the 3 lowest-level realms with deep-linkable bosses (Penking Lv 15 → Bushi Lv 23 → Katress Lv 23) sit close enough to chain on a single fast-travel route. Clear all three, sleep at any bed to skip the hour-timer, then re-clear — that's the canonical realm-XP loop pre-DLC.

*Tides of Terraria boss Pals (Smokie, Prunelia, Nitemary, Neptilius, Eye of Cthulhu) aren't yet in our Paldex — their element data was pulled live from palworld.wiki.gg this session. Realm names, levels and coords come from the same wiki.gg Sealed_Realm top-page table. Biome column reads from our marker seed; ToT realms outside Palpagos return —.

DLC + expansion realms — how coverage was filled

The table above now covers all 18 Sealed Realms that palworld.wiki.gg/wiki/Sealed_Realm canonicalises — base game plus Sakurajima, Feybreak, and Tides of Terraria additions. Realm names, levels and portal coordinates come from that single wiki.gg table.

Only 7 of the 18 currently have a matching marker in our seed, which is why the Biome column reads — for the rest (the new entries are outside Palpagos and therefore outside our region classifier's coverage map). The 5 Tides of Terraria boss Pals (Smokie, Prunelia, Nitemary, Neptilius, Eye of Cthulhu) aren't yet in our Paldex — their names are flagged with * and the element data was pulled live from each Pal's dedicated wiki.gg page this session rather than guessed.

Sealed Realm bosses vs. Alpha Pals vs. Tower bosses

Three different boss-encounter types and the AI Overview confuses them often. Sealed Realm bosses are the high-level guaranteed-capture encounters covered on this page. Alpha Pals are scaled-up open-world spawns (no key required, no realm) — see our Alpha Pals guide for the full list. Tower bosses are the 7 timed faction fights gated by story content — see our Boss Towers guide. Sealed Realm bosses overlap species-wise with regular wild spawns of the same Pal but always release at the realm's scaled level.

How Sealed Realms work

  • Approach the realm's entrance — each is a fast-travel statue, so unlock it on first sight to let you respawn at the door if the fight goes badly.
  • The seal requires a key item to break. Drop the key at the statue, enter the dungeon arena, and the boss spawns inside.
  • Defeating the boss releases a guaranteed-capture Pal of that species at the level scaled to the realm — the only reliable source for several rare species.
  • Bring a team built around the "Counter" column above — boss HP is high enough that mismatched elements drag the fight out past your stamina.

Frequently asked questions

Do Sealed Realm captures count toward Paldeck registration in Palworld?

Yes — capturing the boss adds the species to your Paldeck like any other Pal capture, and the realm version is often a higher-level instance than wild spawns.

Can I retry a Sealed Realm if I die or the boss escapes in Palworld?

The realm itself can be entered again. If the boss already despawned for the day, expect a daily reset window before the encounter is available again. We don't list the exact reset duration here because it has changed across patches and we can only verify what's in our marker data.

Are Sealed Realms the only post-game bosses in Palworld?

No — there are also Boss Towers (7 timed faction fights) and the various Alpha and Predator Pals on the open map.

What level should I be for a Sealed Realm boss?

Match or exceed the realm's recommended level — the boss inside scales to the realm tier, not your character. Mid-game realms (Frozen Wings, Swordmaster) are typically clearable around level 25-30; late-game realms (Thunder Dragon, Terraria) want level 45+ with end-game gear.

Where do I get the stone key for a Sealed Realm?

Keys drop from main-quest progression and from specific NPC tasks tied to each realm. Carry the key into the realm's entrance and the seal breaks automatically. Lost keys can be re-acquired through the same quest source — they're not unique items.

Is the boss capture guaranteed?

The release of the Pal at the end of the fight is guaranteed — that's the point of the realm. Whether you capture it depends on your Pal Sphere tier and the boss's remaining HP. Bring upgraded spheres + reduce the boss to single-digit HP for a reliable throw.

How long until a Sealed Realm boss respawns?

One real-time hour in single-player saves, longer on dedicated servers (per palworld.wiki.gg/wiki/Sealed_Realms). The timer can be skipped by sleeping at a bed — so the practical loop is clear a realm, sleep, re-clear immediately. The respawn applies per realm; clearing realm A doesn't reset realm B.

Are Sealed Realm bosses the same as Alpha Pals in Palworld?

No — Alpha Pals are scaled-up open-world spawns (crowned-icon Pals on the map, no realm or key needed). Sealed Realm bosses are gated by a stone key and live inside their own arena. Both release rare species but the spawn mechanic and capture loop are different. See our Alpha Pals guide for the open-world list.
