Best Cooling Pals in Palworld
Pals ranked by their cool work suitability level (1–8). Higher levels finish tasks faster and unlock advanced station tiers.
Cooling is the work suitability that runs the Refrigerator (and Cooler Box, depending on patch). A Cooling Pal keeps perishables — meat, eggs, milk, cooked food — from spoiling in storage. Every base that processes meat into cooked food needs at least one Lv 1 Cooling Pal; bases with multiple refrigerators need higher levels.

What each level unlocks
- Level 1
- Cooler Box (slow).
- Level 2
- Refrigerator.
- Level 3
- Multi-fridge bases at standard pace.
- Level 4
- Top chilling tier — required for late-game freezing chains. In 1.0 the ceiling is 8, so Lv 5–8 Pals chill faster still.
Practical tips
- Skip Cooling for the first few hours — the Cooler Box can run unattended at slow speed for early-game perishables.
Common questions
- Does Cooling apply outside the base?
- No — only at base stations. Carry a Cooler Box in your inventory if you need field-side preservation.
- Can I assign multiple Cooling Pals to one Refrigerator?
- No, only one slot per station. Build a second Refrigerator if your meat throughput exceeds one Pal's pacing.
