Gear

Only weapons and sets we can match to an item in the 1.0 game files. Tiers come from those files; a “likely match” agrees on 4–5 of 5 perk slots rather than all of them.

FAQ

Is Fire Mage good for solo?
It is built to be: besides the damage nodes it takes Fire Resistance, Healer and Counterstrike, the three defensive picks of the build, and it is complete by level 15 from level-up points alone. Every point you get after that is free to spend.
Should I respec to Frost later?
If you want crowd control, yes — the Ice Mage keeps the same Intelligence and Mage Apprentice core and swaps the fire nodes for Iceman, Frost and Ice Resistance. Keen's November 2024 notes priced a respec at 1 rune per spent point; 1.0 itself reset the tree once for existing saves ("When playing for the first time in version 1.0.0.0 with an existing save game, the skill tree will be reset."). This build spends 27.
Best staff for this build?
Darya's Staff: it is a loot staff that the 1.0 files let roll at any item level from 1 to 55, so a higher-level copy replaces the one you have. The fire comes from the spell, not the staff — Arsonist raises fire damage, so load fire spells; the 1.0 files hold Mage fire spells from item level 3.
