Gear

Only weapons and sets we can match to an item in the 1.0 game files. Tiers come from those files; a “likely match” agrees on 4–5 of 5 perk slots rather than all of them.

FAQ

What do the new 1.0 wand skills do?
Keen's 1.0 notes describe them. Aerial Wand Attack "can be triggered in mid-air and is an AoE for wands". Wand Evasion Attack "adds more flow to wand gameplay, and has wider, piercing projectiles". Blast and Cast: "After a critical strike with a wand, the base damage of your next staff attack within 10 seconds is increased by 50%". The rest are older nodes with 1.0 values: Wand Mastery raises wand damage by 5% per rank and Sting raises repeated wand damage by 20%.
Wand or staff?
Both, with different jobs. The wand is the main weapon: Wand Mastery, Sting, Arcane Proliferation, Unity and Eternal Spark are all wand nodes. The 1.0 files class wand attacks as Magic, so Mage Apprentice and Wizard count them too. The staff is the follow-up for Blast and Cast. The staff-only nodes, Spellslinger and Quick Charge, are left out.
Wand Archmage vs Battlemage?
Both carry a shock wand with Thunder. The Battlemage holds a one-handed sword and puts 30 of its 58 points into Warrior nodes. The Archmage stays all Mage and spends on the wand nodes the Battlemage skips: Wand Specialization, Aerial Wand Attack, Wand Evasion Attack, Wand Mastery and Sting.
When does the Wand Archmage come online?
Wand Specialization and Wand Mastery 3/3 are affordable by level 8, and both new wand attacks by level 17. The whole build is 65 points, complete by level 34 from level-ups alone.
Can I respec into it from the Fire or Ice Mage?
Yes. All three start from the same Intelligence and Mage Apprentice nodes. Keen's November 2024 notes priced a respec at 1 rune per spent point; 1.0 itself reset the tree once for existing saves ("When playing for the first time in version 1.0.0.0 with an existing save game, the skill tree will be reset."). This build spends 65.
