Ancient Civilization Parts (a.k.a. Cores in community slang) gate 13 of Palworld's strongest endgame items — the Hyper Shield, Mega Grappling Gun, Lily's Spear, every Sphere Launcher tier. Five farming methods exist; only one is genuinely fast. We rank all five by yield-per-hour, list the exact recipes that consume them, and link straight to our map+items pages for the locations involved.
What are Ancient Civilization Parts used for in Palworld?
Ancient Civilization Parts are a crafting ingredient — you don't use them directly; you spend them at a workbench to unlock endgame gear. They're the material that gates most of the post-tower-clear loadout: high-tier shields, all three Grappling Gun upgrades, the sphere-launcher line, and a handful of unique weapons.
Because they aren't Pal-drops in the conventional sense (no Pal in the species roster carries them on a standard drop table — they come from world content instead), most farming guides skip straight to the source method. The four methods below cover every route the game offers.
The 5 source methods ranked by speed
Method 1 — Defeat Tower Bosses
Fastest
Yield estimate: ~10-15 parts/hour
Tower bosses guarantee a fixed-size stack of Ancient Civilization Parts every time you complete the fight. Each tower can be re-challenged after a cooldown, so a 5-tower loop refreshes itself every few in-game days. This is the highest yield-per-hour method in the game.
·Bring an S-Tier Pal partner from the Best Combat Pals roster — tower bosses scale to your level.
·Cherry-pick the towers you can solo first; the boss roster is uneven on difficulty.
·Each tower also rewards 5 Ancient Technology Points on first clear — bank those for the late-game tech tree.
Method 2 — Dungeon end-chests
Reliable
Yield estimate: ~4-6 parts/hour
Sealed Realm and standard dungeon end-chests roll Ancient Civilization Parts on their loot table. Higher-tier dungeons (Astral Mountains / Astral Caverns / Feybreak) drop them more reliably than low-level ones, but even mid-tier dungeons produce them frequently enough to call this a Reliable source.
·Run dungeons during their reset window (in-game day rotation) for back-to-back loops.
·Bring a Dark or Dragon element Pal for the boss fight — most dungeon bosses are weak to one of those.
·Stack inventory weight reduction before the run — endgame dungeons drop heavy materials alongside the cores.
Method 3 — Alpha Pal kills
Variable
Yield estimate: ~6-8 parts/hour
World-spawn Alpha Pals (those with a crown icon on the map) occasionally drop Ancient Civilization Parts in addition to their species-specific loot table. Yields are variable per Pal — wiki.gg lists ranges from 1 to ~20 depending on the alpha's element + level. Spawns refresh on the in-game day cycle so an Alpha-circuit run nets cores as a side benefit.
·Map an alpha circuit through the Astral Mountains and Twilight Dunes — high-density alpha spawn zones.
·Capture instead of kill where possible; capturing usually rolls the same loot table plus the Pal itself.
·Use our /palworld/guides/alpha-pals page to see every alpha spawn marker plus the recommended counter team.
Method 4 — Lucky Pal encounters
Rare
Yield estimate: Opportunistic only
Lucky Pals are the golden-glow rare variants that occasionally spawn in place of a regular Pal. They have higher stats than the base species AND a chance to drop Ancient Civilization Parts on capture or defeat — usually a single Part per encounter. They're not a farmable method on their own, but if you spot the golden glow during another run, swing for the capture.
·Capture over kill — Lucky Pals join your roster at higher levels than a normal catch and the loot still rolls.
·They can spawn anywhere a normal Pal of the species would spawn — no fixed location, just keep your eyes open.
·Pair with an alpha-circuit or dungeon run; treat Lucky Pal drops as bonus loot, not a primary target.
Method 5 — Wandering Black Marketeer (last resort)
Last resort
Yield estimate: Not measurable — purchase only
Some community reports note the Black Marketeer NPC occasionally stocking Ancient Civilization Parts for direct purchase. This is unverified in the major guides (Game8, IGN, Polygon, Eurogamer don't list it as a reliable source). If it does appear in stock, the asking price is steep — only buy if you're cash-rich after tower-boss runs and need to top off for a specific recipe.
·Black Marketeer spawn locations are listed on our /palworld/region pages; check the desert and forest hubs.
·Inventory rotates on a real-time interval — if you don't see Parts, come back later.
·Treat this method as a rumour-tier source until officially documented; tower bosses cover the same demand without RNG.
Parts vs Cores — same word, different items
Most search results conflate the two, so to be precise: Palworld ships two distinct Ancient Civilization items. Ancient Civilization Parts (blue icon) drop from open-world Alpha Pals, dungeon end-chests, and Lucky Pals — they cover the early/mid-game recipes our items index lists below. Ancient Civilization Cores (purple icon) drop only from the 11 raid bosses, 4 expeditions and 2 Oil Rig Greater Chests catalogued in the next three tables — they unlock late-game gear (Ultra Shield, Sniper Module II, Homing Module, Large-Scale Egg Incubator).
Our items.json currently carries one merged entry ("Ancient Civilization Parts") and the recipes list below renders against it. The raid + expedition + Oil Rig tables below name Cores explicitly because that is what those sources drop in-game.
All 11 raid bosses that drop Cores
Each raid is summoned at a Summoning Altar with the matching Slab consumable. Every Core drop below is 100% guaranteed — the variance is the quantity, which scales with the Ultra / Master tier of the slab you used. Data sourced live from paldb.cc/en/Ancient_Civilization_Core this session, cross-verified against each boss's dedicated palworld.wiki.gg page where one exists.

Bellanoir Slab Fragments — 4 fragments combine into 1 Slab, which summons a single raid. Fragments come from desert/volcanic dungeons, so a Bellanoir-only loop is fragment-bottlenecked: 4 dungeon clears per raid attempt. Libero/Ultra Slabs drop from completing the prior tier's raid, so the chain is Bellanoir → Libero → Libero Ultra in one play session.
Expeditions that yield Cores
Expeditions are sent from the Expedition Station — you assign idle Pals + Expedition Fuel and they return after a real-time timer with the rewards below. All four Core-yielding expeditions are 100% drop; the quantity scales with expedition difficulty. Source: paldb.cc.

Oil Rig chests — the only sub-100% Core source
The Lv 55 and Lv 60 Oil Rig instances each hide a single Greater Chest that rolls Ancient Civilization Cores. Unlike every other source, the drop is not guaranteed — the chests sit just below 100% per paldb. Chests + gun turrets respawn 30 minutes (real time) after the Greater Chest is looted on the Lv 55 Oil Rig (per palworld.wiki.gg/wiki/Oil_Rig); the Lv 60 reset window is not yet documented on the wiki top page.

Stealth tip from the community: bring a Galeclaw to drift from the helipad onto the deck — the turrets aim at standing silhouettes, not gliders, so you bypass most of the entry-side damage.
All 13 recipes that consume Ancient Civilization Parts
Every item that uses Ancient Civilization Parts as a crafting ingredient, pulled live from items.json. Click any row to open its full recipe (ingredients + workbench tier + Tech Lv).
If you're trying to stack 30-50 cores for a full endgame loadout, run this loop:
Clear all 5 main-game tower bosses (one full pass = ~10-15 cores depending on which Lifmunk buff stack is active). See our boss-towers guide for the route + counter-team picks.
Run 2-3 Astral Mountains dungeons while the tower cooldowns reset. Reliable mid-rate drops, plus the dungeon's own loot covers other endgame materials.
Sweep an alpha circuit through the Twilight Dunes + Astral Mountains while dungeon resets cool down too. See our alpha-pals guide for the full spawn list.
Grab any Lucky Pal you spot mid-loop — golden-glow rare variants drop Parts on capture as a bonus. They don't justify their own run but they free-roll on the alpha + dungeon passes you're already doing.
Check the Black Marketeer (optional) every couple of in-game days for top-up purchases. Stock is unverified by major guides — only spend gold if you're short on cores for a specific recipe and cash-rich.
What's the fastest way to farm Ancient Civilization Cores?
Run a tower-boss loop. Tower bosses guarantee a fixed Ancient Civilization Parts drop every clear, and each tower can be re-challenged after its cooldown — so a 5-tower rotation effectively refreshes itself every couple of in-game days. Dungeon end-chests are the next-best source if a particular tower's cooldown hasn't reset yet.
Are Ancient Civilization Parts the same as Ancient Civilization Cores?
No — Palworld ships two distinct items despite the name overlap. Ancient Civilization Parts (blue icon) drop from Alpha Pals, Lucky Pals and dungeon end-chests; they feed the mid-game recipes. Ancient Civilization Cores (purple icon) drop only from the 11 raid bosses (Bellanoir, Blazamut Ryu, Xenolord, Hartalis, Moon Lord and their Ultra/Master tiers), the 4 expeditions (Snow, Sakurajima, Feybreak, Feybreak Hard) and the 2 Oil Rig Greater Chests — they unlock late-game gear like the Ultra Shield, Sniper Module II and Large-Scale Egg Incubator. Players and even community guides often shorten both to 'Cores' / 'ACC' interchangeably, which is where the confusion comes from. Our guide title bridges both names because most search queries do.
Which raid bosses drop Ancient Civilization Cores in Palworld?
Eleven raid-summon encounters per paldb.cc: Bellanoir (1 Core), Bellanoir Libero (1-2) and Libero Ultra (2-3), Blazamut Ryu (2) and Blazamut Ryu Ultra (3), Xenolord (3) and Xenolord Ultra (3), Moon Lord (2) and Master Moon Lord (3), Hartalis (3) and Hartalis Ultra (3). All eleven drop Cores at 100% rate — the variance is purely the slab tier (standard vs Ultra / Master) you summon with at the Altar.
Do expeditions drop Ancient Civilization Cores?
Yes — four expeditions yield Cores at 100% on completion: Expedition Snow (1), Expedition Sakurajima (1-2), Expedition Feybreak (2-3) and Expedition Feybreak Hard (2-3). Each one consumes Expedition Fuel and a small idle-Pal party for the duration of the real-time timer.
Do Alpha Pals always drop Ancient Civilization Parts?
No — Alpha Pals (the crowned world-spawn variants) have Ancient Civilization Parts on their loot table as a chance roll, not a guaranteed drop. You'll get some from an alpha circuit run but the yield is variable. Tower bosses guarantee the drop; alphas are a side-benefit.
Do Lucky Pals drop Ancient Civilization Parts?
Lucky Pals — the rare golden-glow variants that occasionally spawn in place of a regular Pal — can drop Ancient Civilization Parts on capture or defeat, usually one Part per encounter. They aren't a farmable source on their own (no fixed spawn), but if you spot the golden glow during an alpha-circuit or dungeon run, the capture is worth doing for both the bonus loot and the higher-stat Pal.
Can you buy Ancient Civilization Parts from a merchant?
Some community reports claim the Wandering Black Marketeer occasionally stocks Ancient Civilization Parts. This is unverified by the major guide sources (Game8, IGN, Polygon, Eurogamer don't list it as a reliable method). Regular merchants don't stock them. Treat the Black Marketeer route as a last-resort top-up rather than a primary farming method — tower-boss runs cover the same demand without the RNG and the high gold cost.
How many Ancient Civilization Parts do I need for late-game crafting?
Depends on which endgame items you're chasing. Pindrop's items index lists all 13 recipes that consume Ancient Civilization Parts (Hyper Shield, Mega Grappling Gun, Lily's Spear, etc.) along with their exact ingredient quantities. Plan around 30-50 cores for a complete endgame loadout.
Do Ancient Civilization Parts respawn in dungeons?
The dungeons themselves respawn (the entire instance regenerates on the in-game day cycle), and each clear has Ancient Civilization Parts on the end-chest loot table. So yes — re-running the same dungeon eventually nets you more cores, just not from the same chest in the same run.
