Lv 15-20
First flier. Slow but covers you until Vanwyrm.
All 29 flying mounts ranked by ride sprint speed — from Jetragon at 3,300 down to Nitewing at 750. Saddle-unlock levels, variant callouts, and the passive picks that stack to +120% effective speed.

Ride sprint speed is the only objective metric for "best mount" — anything else is editorial. Values below come live from pal-stats.json — stats.ride_sprint_speed and stats.stamina. The Sprint column is base speed: six of these flyers — Beakon, Beakon Cryst, Suzaku, Suzaku Aqua, Eidrolon and Eidrolon Ignis — raise their own Movement Speed further for each matching Pal in your party, so what you actually fly at depends on who else you bring.
Sprint is a ceiling; Stamina is how long you hold it, and the two columns disagree. Jetragon wins Sprint at 3,300 but carries 110 stamina, while Suzaku tops Stamina at 350 on 1,100 sprint — 20th in this table. Read the two columns together: the fastest mount is not the one that crosses the map without stopping.

S — Sprint ≥ 3,000 — endgame DPS-or-bust
A — Sprint 1,300–2,800 — 1.0 flyers + legendaries + Faleris/Ragnahawk
B — Sprint 1,100–1,200 — best mid-to-late flyers
C — Sprint 750–1,050 — early/budget picks
Stamina is read from the same pal-stats.json snapshot as Sprint. Every value in this column was re-checked against paldb and palworld.gg on 17 August 2026: 28 of the 29 matched exactly. The one that did not was Jetragon — the 1.0 patch notes say “Increased Jetragon’s maximum stamina” without publishing a figure, both sources read 110, and the 110 above is that correction.
Lv 15-20
First flier. Slow but covers you until Vanwyrm.
Lv 21-30
Lv 21 saddle; jump to Helzephyr at Lv 26 for the speed bump.
Lv 31-45
Lv 33 saddle, 1,300 sprint — nothing faster lands until Quivern Botan at Lv 45.
Lv 50+
Endgame ceiling. Lv 50 boss fight + Missile Launcher saddle.
A maxed mount carries four passive slots and speed passives stack additively, so the ceiling is +120% from four distinct passives: Dimensional Leap +50%, Swift +30%, Runner +20% and Legend +20%. Dimensional Leap is new in 1.0 and charges a 15% faster hunger drain for its +50%. Lightfooted, also new, adds no speed at all — it grants +1 jump while riding this Pal.
| Passive | Effect | Who carries it |
|---|---|---|
| Dimensional Leap | Move Speed +50%, Hunger drain +15% | Added in 1.0 — the biggest single speed passive in the game; the faster hunger drain is the price. |
| Swift | Move Speed +30% | Random roll on any wild Pal — high-priority breeding target. |
| Runner | Move Speed +20% | Common drop; stack with Swift for a +50% effective mount. |
| Nimble | Move Speed +10% | Low-tier filler — replace with Runner when you find one. |
| Legend | Attack +20%, Defense +20%, Move Speed +20% | Legendary-rarity Pals only (Jetragon, Frostallion, etc.). Cannot inherit through breeding. |
Most flyers above Lv 26 apply an element buff to the player's attacks while mounted. Use these when a Tower or alpha encounter needs a specific element.
Every percentage a partner skill quotes is a range because the skill scales with the Pal's rank. All 29 flying mounts carry a 5-step rankProgression in pal-stats.json, and for the 26 below the low number in the skill text is the rank-1 value and the high number is the rank-5 value. Reaching that top rank means condensing, and 1.0 cut the number of Pals required to reach the maximum rank from 116 to 48.

What each percentage applies to differs per Pal — Astegon's is damage dealt to ore and extra Ore while mounted, Selyne's is Neutral and Dark attack damage — so open the Pal page for the full skill wording. Rows with two spans have two separately scaling effects.
Saddle materials change per patch — check in-game tooltips for the current cost on your build.
Several flyers have a sub-species with the same speed but a different element buff. Pick by which boss you're prepping for — not by raw stats.
