Palworld Fishing Spots — All Lake & Shore Locations Guide

Named fishing spots are shoreline and lake locations where you can deploy a fishing rod to catch food, ingredients, and rare aquatic Pals. They're anchored to fast-travel statues and other landmark features so you can return reliably. Updated for Tides of Terraria (Update 0.6) — the spot list re-pulls from our marker seed each build.
Each spot below shows the name and the closest landmark anchor. Use the interactive map to plan a fishing route across multiple regions in one trip.
Start here: fishing tiers by player level
progression ladderWiki.gg groups Palpagos fishing spots into four progression tiers. Stay in your level band — fish spawns scale to the region's tier, and rods+bait upgrades unlock the higher-tier catches.
- Beginner · Lv 1–16Sunlit Isle, Grassland coast
Starter spots near the Plateau of Beginnings. Common catches: Croajiro, Fuack, Kelpsea, Pengullet, Jelliette, Turtacle, Celaray.
- Intermediate · Lv 22–37Forest region, Volcano Island
Bring the Good Fishing Rod and bait. Catches add Penking, Jellroy, Celaray Lux, Killamari, and the Volcano variants (Fuack Ignis, Kelpsea Ignis, Dumud, Gloopie, Killamari Primo).
- Advanced · Lv 40–55Oasis Isle, Eternal Summer Isle, Sakurajima, Feybreak
Super Fishing Rod opens the late-game pool. DLC regions add Ignis and Cryst-class fish on Feybreak; Sakurajima ships Lv 40-53 spots.
- Master · Lv 50–60Isle of the Glacial Core, Rayne Oil Rig
Endgame spots needing the Legendary Fishing Rod. The Rayne Syndicate Platform Oil Rig sits at Lv 60 and is the highest-tier fishing arena.

Pals that help on fishing trips
Fishing itself is rod + spot — no Pal partner-skill speeds the cast. But getting to and between spots is where these Pals carry the run. All five are verified in our pal-stats.json with the partner-skill text shown.
SurfentSwift SwimmerCan be ridden to travel on water. While mounted, prevents stamina depletion while moving over water.
JormuntideStormbringer Sea DragonCan be ridden to travel on water. While mounted, prevents stamina depletion while moving over water.

AzurobeWaterwing DanceCan be ridden to travel on water. Applies Water damage to the player's attacks while mounted.

Tides of Terraria (Update 0.6) added new fishing-specific Pals (Whalaska Ignis / Jelliette / Gloopie / Ghangler) whose partner skills fill the catch bar mid-cast. They aren't in our pal-stats.json yet — see palworld.wiki.gg/wiki/Fishing for those entries. We'll fold them into this list once the data lands in our dataset.
Available fishing rods
Four rod tiers ship in the game, each crafted at a workbench once the corresponding tech is unlocked. Higher tiers shorten the catch window and unlock rarer fish. Per-tier bar-size multipliers + catchable spot tiers (Beginner → Master) shift between patches and aren't in our items.json — wiki.gg carries the live numbers.
How fishing works
- •Fishing happens only at named anchor spots — there are 355 mapped across 13 regions in our seed. You can't cast a rod anywhere on the shoreline; the spot has to be one of those listed below.
- •Equip a rod from the four tiers above (craft at a workbench once you have the tech). The rod stays in your inventory — no per-cast bait consumption in our items data.
- •Catches fall into three buckets: ingredient fish (food crafting), aquatic Pals (rare), and items you'll find in chests anywhere. The exact per-spot drop tables aren't in our seed data, so we don't list them here.
Frequently asked questions
Can I fish anywhere along a river or shoreline in Palworld?
No. Casts only register at the named spots — the markers we have mapped here. Approach a spot, the prompt to fish appears, then equip a rod and cast.
Which fishing rod should I aim for first?
Most players craft the Old rod immediately, then upgrade to Good once the Tech tree unlocks the recipe. Super and Legendary are mid-to-late game gear. Each rod tier's tech level is shown on the item card above; click through for the full recipe.
Are there per-spot fish tables in Palworld?
The game files don't expose a per-spot table and our marker seed only carries location and landmark anchor. For specific catches at a specific spot, check palworld.wiki.gg — we don't duplicate that table here to avoid drift.
Do fishing spots respawn or run out?
Spots refresh on a short timer — you can fish the same anchor repeatedly without depleting it. Drop rates are RNG-based; if you're chasing a specific rare catch, expect to grind multiple casts per spot.
Can I catch aquatic Pals at fishing spots?
Yes — rare aquatic Pals appear in the catch table at certain spots. The exact species + drop rates aren't in our marker data; the official wiki is the canonical source. Capturing one works the same as a regular Pal catch (sphere throw).
Is fishing useful for cooking recipes?
Yes. Several cooked-food recipes (and a couple of mid-game medicines) consume fish ingredients. Fish caught from spots map directly to those recipes in our items index — see the per-item page for the full ingredient list.
Best Pal for fishing trips in Palworld?
Surfent is the working-class pick — its Swift Swimmer partner skill lets you ride the Pal over water without depleting stamina, which is the bottleneck on long fishing routes. Jormuntide handles the same role at higher speed for late-game. The Tides of Terraria update added fishing-specific Pals (Whalaska Ignis, Jelliette, Gloopie, Ghangler) whose partner skills directly fill the catch bar — those are the strongest pure-fishing picks but aren't yet in our dataset.
Is this fishing guide updated for Tides of Terraria / Update 0.6?
Yes — our marker seed reflects the post-Update-0.6 spot list. Several competitor guides still cite pre-Tides-of-Terraria spot data; those pages are stale. The fishing-spot count + region distribution above re-computes on every paldb refresh so the numbers stay current.
How this guide was built · Sources
355 fishing-spot markers come from our marker seed (paldb.cc extraction). The 4 rod tiers auto-resolve from items.json by slug pattern — each links to its canonical /items page. Per-spot fish drop tables are deferred to wiki.gg (cited in the FAQ above) — those aren't in our data files yet.
