Every Ancient Lava pool we have mapped sits inside No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary, on the volcanic terrain near Mt. Obsidian. Bring heat protection and a Pal with Mining level 2 — each pool has 4,500 HP and respawns every 30 minutes. No Pal drops it, and there is no source outside the sanctuary. Four recipes consume it at 30 apiece, including Air Walker Mk II and the Ring of Trust.

It takes 30 Ancient Lava from No. 2 and 10 Beautiful Flower, which only grows in No. 1 and No. 2. So that one accessory sends you into restricted ground twice — worth batching with an Ancient Bark trip, since Bark is in No. 1 as well.
