You get the Auto Shotgun by crafting it at the Workbench, looting 23 kinds of container and buying it from traders. The recipe unlocks at Shotguns level 61, raised by reading Shotgun Weekly; crafted quality goes up at levels 68, 76, 84, 92 and 100.
