Hits to kill: pick a weapon
In the game's code a normal swing sends int(weaponDamage) and a heavy / combo hit sends int(weaponDamage) × 3 (weaponInfo.OnTriggerEnter); the chainsaw halves weaponDamage first against Armsy, Virginia and the fat mutant, in both cases. Cannibals that are knocked down take double damage and sleeping ones lose a flat 100 (EnemyHealth.HitReal); those two rules are not in the counts. The result is a count from the formula alone.

Melee weapons
Projectiles (6)

Katana: 6 per normal swing, 18 per heavy / combo hit. weaponDamage 6: a swing sends int(weaponDamage), a heavy / combo hit ×3.

From the game's damage formula; strength and upgrades not included. A range is where the files leave two possible health values. In the code, cannibals that are knocked down take double damage and sleeping ones lose a flat 100 (EnemyHealth.HitReal); the counts above ignore both. Armsy, Virginia, the fat mutant and the baby take the damage as it is.

Health and contact damage: literals in the game's code, evaluated for Normal (every mode except Hard and Hard Survival) and Hard / Hard Survival. A range is where the code leaves two possible writes (see the Hunched pale cannibal). The fat mutant has no contact-damage expression: it hits with a charge. Hits: from the game's damage formula (a swing is int(weaponDamage), a heavy / combo hit ×3); strength and upgrades not included. Knocked-down cannibals take double damage and sleeping ones lose 100 (EnemyHealth.HitReal); the counts leave both out.
"Cave spawns": fixed spawner capacity placed in caves, as on the map. The other types have no fixed spawner in the files; surface cannibals spawn dynamically and by village, hut and encounter zones.
What mutants are in The Forest?
The game's spawn list has 12 enemy types. 8 are the regular tribe: Cannibal (male), Cannibal (female), Skinny cannibal, Skinny cannibal (female), Hunched pale cannibal, Pale cannibal, Fireman cannibal and Dynamite cannibal. The other 4 are what the code calls "creepy" types: Armsy, Virginia, Mutant baby and Fat mutant. Neither the type ids nor the files hold a name in English, so the labels are the ones this section already uses on its cave pages, or are built from the type id (shown on every card). Besides the 12, the files hold one more enemy prefab, the Girl mutant (girlMutant), which is not in the spawn list.
What is the strongest mutant in The Forest?
By health, Armsy on Hard / Hard Survival (300 health, ahead of Virginia at 262). On Normal Armsy and Fat mutant tie at 200. Contact damage is a separate question; see the table. The Girl mutant (girlMutant) prefab stores 370 health, more than any of these, but it is outside the spawn list and its runtime health was not decoded. All figures come from the game files and the compiled code, not from play-testing.
How these numbers were read
- Health is what the game's spawn code writes into the enemy's health (AiSettings.Refresh and the per-type setters). Where a setter writes none, the enemy keeps the health stored on its prefab and the page says so.
- Contact damage is the number handed to the player before armour and difficulty handling on the player side. Extra rules in the same code: maleSkinny holding regularStick in left hand: damage x 1.35 then floor; male (not female) holding a regular weapon in left hand: damage + 7; male holding an advanced weapon in left hand: damage + 15; attacker EnemyHealth.poisoned: damage / 1.6 then floor.
- Combat timings and attack patterns are not here: the files holding them could not be read (4 of 20 enemy state machines parsed).
- The crossbow and everything added in 1.10 are not in this build.
