How to Get Every Vehicle in Subnautica: Below Zero
The game files hold three vehicles: the Seatruck (3 fragments), the Prawn Suit (4 fragments) and the Snowfox (3 fragments). The first two are built in the Mobile Vehicle Bay, and its 3 fragments have no fixed pin on the map: they are rolled at random in each new game.

- Prawn Suit10 fixed pins4 fragments to scan
- Snowfox2 fixed pins3 fragments to scan
- Mobile Vehicle Bay0 fixed pins3 fragments, random only
This is the overview. Each vehicle has its own page with the full pin table: the Seatruck and its modules and the Prawn Suit.

The 5 steps at a glance
- Get the Mobile Vehicle Bay. Random fragments, so scan whatever you pass.
- Build the Seatruck (2 fixed pins in 2 areas).
- Or the Prawn Suit (10 fixed pins in 5 areas).
- Then the Snowfox (2 fixed pins in 2 areas).
- Park them in a Moonpool, and upgrade the depth.
Step 1: Get the Mobile Vehicle Bay
The bay unlocks after you scan 3 fragments (2 s each). The map has 0 fixed pins for them, and the spawner tables do list the fragment, so the pieces are rolled per game and I cannot give a place. The files do not say whether the blueprint is already in your PDA when you start.
Mobile vehicle bay is crafted at the Fabricator from 1 Titanium ingot, 1 Lubricant, 1 Computer chip. Counted down to raw materials that is 5 Titanium, 2 Copper ore, 2 Table coral sample, 1 Creepvine seed cluster, 1 Gold. The game describes it as "Fabricates vehicles from raw materials."
Step 2: Build the Seatruck
Seatruck unlocks after you scan 3 fragments (3 s a scan). The map holds 2 fixed pins in 2 areas, and the spawner tables list it too, so some pieces are rolled at random in each new game and are not on the map.
It is built at the Mobile Vehicle Bay. The game files also hold an early PDA hint that tells you an underwater vehicle would greatly raise your chances of survival.
Seatruck is crafted at the Mobile vehicle bay from 1 Titanium ingot, 1 Advanced wiring kit, 2 Glass, 3 Lead, 1 Power cell. Counted down to raw materials that is 5 Titanium, 4 Copper ore, 4 Quartz, 4 Ribbon Plant, 3 Lead, 2 Silver ore, 2 Table coral sample, 1 Creepvine seed cluster, 1 Gold. The game describes it as "One-person sea-and-space vehicle."
| Area | Depth | On the map |
|---|---|---|
| Purple Vents | 101 m below sea level | Open pin |
| Shallow Twisty Bridges | 109 m below sea level | Open pin |
Step 3: Build the Prawn Suit
Prawn suit unlocks after you scan 4 fragments (4 s a scan). The map holds 10 fixed pins in 5 areas.
It also comes out of the Mobile Vehicle Bay. Of its 10 fixed pieces, 3 lie above sea level (Outpost Zero, Tundra void), so you can start the scan without a dive. The deepest group is Purple Vents.
Prawn suit is crafted at the Mobile vehicle bay from 1 Plasteel ingot, 1 Power cell, 1 Enameled glass, 1 Computer chip. Counted down to raw materials that is 5 Titanium, 4 Copper ore, 4 Ribbon Plant, 2 Lithium, 2 Quartz, 2 Table coral sample, 1 Creepvine seed cluster, 1 Diamond, 1 Gold, 1 Lead. The game describes it as "Epic mech suit designed for navigating challenging environments on foot."
| Area | Depth | On the map |
|---|---|---|
| Tundra void | 15 m above sea level | Open pin |
| Outpost Zero | 9 m above sea level | Open pin |

| Delta Island | 286 m below sea level | Open pin |
| Delta Island | 287 m below sea level | Open pin |
| Purple Vents | 328 m below sea level | Open pin |
Step 4: Build the Snowfox
Snowfox unlocks after you scan 3 fragments (3 s a scan). The map holds 2 fixed pins in 2 areas.
Snowfox is crafted (the recipe table lists no station) from 2 Magnetite, 1 Battery, 1 Lubricant, 1 Titanium. The game describes it as "It's a bike... and it hovers!" No craft tree in the files lists the Snowfox, and its entry is not marked as a buildable. The Snowfox Hoverpad, which "Recharges and repairs the Snowfox hoverbike", needs 1 fragment too (2 fixed pins in 1 area). I could not confirm from the files that the Hoverpad is where the Snowfox is made, so I leave that open.
| Area | Depth | On the map |
|---|---|---|
| Glacial Basin | 18 m above sea level | Open pin |
| Purple Vents | 376 m below sea level | Open pin |
Step 5: Park them and upgrade the depth
The Moonpool is the vehicle bay for a base. Its blueprint comes from a data box in Delta Island at 153 m below sea level (open the box), or from a scan. Moonpool is crafted (the recipe table lists no station) from 2 Titanium ingot, 1 Lubricant, 2 Lead. Counted down to raw materials that is 10 Titanium, 2 Lead, 1 Creepvine seed cluster. The game describes it as "Vehicle docking bay with high energy and structural requirements." The Seatruck Dock extends it: "Docking bay for Seatruck plus any attached modules. High power and structure requirements."
The Seatruck Docking Module carries the Prawn Suit: "Rear-only Seatruck docking module allows you to take your Prawn Suit along for the ride!" Depth upgrades are crafted, and the files give no depth figures for them, only that each one "increases safe diving depth".
| Upgrade | Crafted at | Ingredients |
|---|---|---|
| Fabricator | 1 Plasteel ingot, 2 Enameled glass | |
| Modification station | 2 Ruby, 1 Enameled glass, 1 Seatruck Depth Upgrade MK1, 1 Synthetic fibers | |
| Modification station | 1 Seatruck Depth Upgrade MK2, 3 Nickel ore, 2 Kyanite, 1 Plasteel ingot | |
| Fabricator | 1 Enameled glass, 3 Ruby, 1 Synthetic fibers | |
| Modification station | 1 Prawn suit depth module MK1, 1 Kyanite, 2 Nickel ore |
Common mistakes
- Hunting the bay on the map. It has no fixed pin; scan its fragment when you see one.
- Leaving the Prawn Suit for late. Three of its 10 placed pieces are above sea level.
- Looking for a depth number. The files hold none for any upgrade.
About these numbers
Every number here is read from the game files of the Steam build of 12 Aug 2025. Fixed pins and recipes are exact. Spawn chances come from a model of the game's spawner tables and have not been checked in a running game. Anything the files do not hold is marked on the page.
Whether a vehicle blueprint is in your PDA from the start is not in the files I read.
