Plant layers on the map

The four rolled plants are chance layers like the resource heat maps: switch one on to see where its slots are densest. The placed plants are pin layers.

Plants without a page

The databank lists 64 plants and corals. 9 have a page here. The other 55 are scenery the game places by the thousand (35,392 flora objects in all) or scannable plants with no spawn entry and no named position in the files, so there is nothing to map for them. The two purple mushroom prefabs in the spawn tables have no name in the game text and are left out for the same reason.

How the plants are read

Plants sit in the files in two ways. The spawner tables roll 7 flora prefab types (spiral plant, ribbon plant, table coral in two colours, gel sack and two purple mushrooms) into the baked slots of each new game; that is a model, and the pages give the areas, depth and expected count. The Fevered Pepper tree, flowering spore, Chinese potato, lantern fruit and marblemelon are objects placed at fixed coordinates, so their pins are exact. “Gives” is the item the game's item table names as the harvest of the plant; “used in” lists the named recipes that take it.
