Sons of the Forest Enemies & Mutants
A bestiary of every notable Sons of the Forest threat — the cannibal tribes, the above-ground mutants (Fingers, Twins, Armsy), the cave creatures and demons, and the bosses up to the final fight. Each entry has its behaviour, danger tier and console spawn command.
LowCannibal
The basic humanoid enemy. Travels in tribes, throws rocks, rushes with melee and builds effigies to intimidate you. Grows more aggressive the longer you survive.
Spawn:
LowMuddy (skinny) cannibal
Lean cannibals that hide in mud and grass piles and ambush you — fast, evasive and easy to miss until they pounce.
Spawn:
MediumHeavy / fat cannibal
Bulky, high-health cannibals that hit hard but move slowly. Kite them and punish between swings.
Spawn:
MediumPainted cannibal
Covered in fluorescent body paint that only shows in the dark — dangerous in caves and at night when you can't see them coming.
Spawn:- Medium
Fire cannibal
Sets itself alight and charges, dealing fire damage. Keep your distance and use ranged attacks.
Spawn: - Medium
Night cannibal
Wears a head-mounted flashlight and hunts after dark — the light gives away its approach.
Spawn: - Medium
Eddy — spearman
A cannibal that throws up to three spears at range before closing in. Break line of sight or rush him down.
Spawn:
HighGold-masked leader
A gold-masked tribe leader that rallies and emboldens nearby cannibals. A priority kill — the tribe scatters without it.
Spawn:
HighFingers
A pale crawling mutant with long finger-like limbs. Fast, unsettling and hits hard up close — keep moving and use ranged weapons.
Spawn:
HighTwins
A conjoined twin mutant with extra limbs — high health and heavy melee. Traps and firearms make short work of it.
Spawn:
HighArmsy
A towering, many-armed mutant and one of the deadliest regular enemies. It tears through structures and lashes with its arms — use ranged weapons, traps and open space.
Spawn:
HighLegsy
A many-legged mutant that skitters fast and is hard to pin down. Bait its lunge, then punish.
Spawn:
LowMutant baby
A small, fast mutant fetus that lunges at you. Weak alone, but startling and dangerous in groups.
Spawn:
HighCreepy Virginia
A multi-limbed female mutant (no relation to the companion Virginia) that skitters and strikes fast.
Spawn:
HighCaterpillar (John 2.0)
Two mutants fused back-to-back that move by cartwheeling — flipping one torso over the other. A fast, unsettling surface mutant, known informally as “John 2.0” or “Worm 2.0”.
Spawn:
MediumCave mutant (Puffy)
Pale, eyeless mutants that infest the caves and attack in packs in the dark. Bring a strong light and a fast weapon.
Spawn:
HighBlue glowing cave mutant
A tougher, bioluminescent cave-mutant that glows blue in the dark — a mini-boss of the deeper caves.
Spawn:
HighDemon
A cave-dwelling demon from the deepest caverns — extremely dangerous in melee. The cross repels them, and fire helps.
