How to read it
- Each container has a loot table: a list of items with a weight and a number of rolls. One roll picks an item with probability weight divided by the sum of the weights, so chance per roll is exactly that share.
- Expected per container is the average number of rolls times that chance. At least one is the chance the item turns up in a container, for the fewest and the most rolls. Both assume each roll is independent; the game's tables allow the same item twice.
- The most common container is the wooden crate with 337 placed in the game files. Together the 8 placed container types have 870 spawners: 725 on the island and 145 inside caves and bunkers.
- Dots mark where the game files place a container. A container can be broken, looted or empty already in your save, so treat a dot as a place to check, not a guarantee. Caves and bunkers are counted, not plotted, because their coordinates are inside the cave scenes. Open the pin for the cave on the interactive map.
- Fixed pickups (keycards, weapons, key items) are not container loot: see key items and the bunker loot lists.
