How the 3D printer works

The first 3D printer is in the Gymnasium bunker, usually with a few Printer Resin cartridges nearby so you can print cheap items right away; more printers turn up in other bunkers. To use one, fill it with Printer Resin and choose an item. Filling uses allthe resin you're carrying at once and can't be undone, so top it up only for the items you actually want. Print the Flask and Arrows early; save up for the Tech Mesh and Sled.

Where is the 3D printer in Sons of the Forest?
The first 3D printer is in the Gymnasium bunker, and there are usually a few Printer Resin cartridges lying around nearby so you can print cheap items straight away. More printers appear in other bunkers as you explore.
What can you make with the 3D printer?
Seven items: 3D Printed Arrows (50ml), a GPS Case (75ml), a Flask (100ml), Grappling Hooks (100ml), a Red Mask (150ml), Tech Mesh for armor (250ml) and a Sled (1000ml). Each costs Printer Resin.
How do you use the 3D printer in Sons of the Forest?
Fill the printer with Printer Resin cartridges, then select an item to print. Filling the printer uses all the resin you're carrying at once, and once it's in the printer you can't take it back out — so only fill what you need.
What should you print first?
The Flask and Arrows. The Flask (100ml) lets you carry fresh water so thirst stops being a problem, and Arrows (50ml for five) are the cheapest print and keep your bow stocked. Save up for the pricier Tech Mesh and Sled later.
Can you get Printer Resin back out of the printer?
No. Once you load Printer Resin into a 3D printer it's committed and can't be retrieved, so don't overfill — add resin as you need it for the items you actually want to print.
