Drones in The Planet Crafter: Station and Recipes

Game files, build 2.0083 min read

Drones need the Drone station (stored unlock 45,000,000,000 Terraformation) and then 1 Rocket Engine, 1 Circuit board, 1 Iron for each T1 drone. The files hold no drone speed or capacity, only the recipes and the text "Transports materials from supply inventories to corresponding demand inventories".

Drones move materials between your storage for you. These are the pieces you have to build, in order, with the numbers the files hold.

Steps at a glance

Four steps.

  1. Reach the station's unlock

    45,000,000,000 Terraformation.
  2. Build the Drone station

1 Osmium Rod, 1 Fusion Energy Cell, 1 Super Alloy Rod, 3 Circuit board.
  3. Craft a drone

    T1: 1 Rocket Engine, 1 Circuit board, 1 Iron. T2: 1 Rocket Engine, 1 Circuit board, 1 Super Alloy, 1 Explosive powder.
  4. Make the Rocket Engine

1 Iridium Rod, 2 Uranium, 1 Super Alloy.

Step 1: Reach the station's unlock

The Drone station is stored with an unlock of 45,000,000,000 Terraformation. On Prime's stage table that sits between Prime's stage 10 (Breathable atmosphere, 32,000,000,000) and stage 11 (Fish, 120,000,000,000); the planets page lists every stage. The Circuit board that the station needs is stored higher, at 160,000,000,000 Terraformation (between Prime's stage 11 (Fish, 120,000,000,000) and stage 12 (Amphibians, 425,000,000,000)), so by the numbers the board is what you wait for.

Step 2: Build the Drone station

The Drone station is 1 Osmium Rod, 1 Fusion Energy Cell, 1 Super Alloy Rod, 3 Circuit board. Counted to raw materials: 14 Osmium, 14 Silicon, 12 Aluminum, 11 Iron, 8 Cobalt, 8 Magnesium, 8 Titanium, 6 Mushroom, 6 Zeolite, 3 Ice, 3 Iridium, 3 Methane cartridge, 3 Nitrogen cartridge, 3 Uranium, 1 Obsidian. It is stored at −850 Energy per second, a large draw, so check your power first. The Fusion Energy Cell is 3 Pulsar Quartz, 2 Osmium, 1 Obsidian; the Fusion reactor guide goes through its ore. Open the station in the calculator.

Step 3: Craft a drone

Both drones are crafted at Drone T1. The T1 Drone reads "Transports materials from supply inventories to corresponding demand inventories" and is 1 Rocket Engine, 1 Circuit board, 1 Iron; in raw materials 9 Iridium, 3 Iron, 3 Silicon, 2 Aluminum, 2 Uranium, 2 Mushroom, 1 Cobalt, 1 Ice, 1 Magnesium, 1 Nitrogen cartridge, 1 Titanium, 1 Zeolite. The T2 Drone reads "Faster Drone" and is 1 Rocket Engine, 1 Circuit board, 1 Super Alloy, 1 Explosive powder; in raw materials 10 Iridium, 4 Silicon, 3 Aluminum, 3 Iron, 2 Cobalt, 2 Magnesium, 2 Sulfur, 2 Titanium, 2 Uranium, 2 Mushroom, 1 Ice, 1 Nitrogen cartridge, 1 Zeolite. The T2 swaps the Iron for a Super Alloy and an Explosive powder (2 Sulfur, 1 Iridium).

Step 4: Make the Rocket Engine

The Rocket Engine is 1 Iridium Rod, 2 Uranium, 1 Super Alloy, crafted at Station T3. You can skip the craft for a few: the map has 11 loose Rocket Engines (Toxicity 11): open them. The ore behind it is Uranium, Iridium and Super Alloy.

Common mistakes

  • Planning for speed. The files give no drone speed or capacity; I will not guess one.
  • Starting the station before the board. The Circuit board's stored unlock (160,000,000,000 Terraformation) is above the station's (45,000,000,000 Terraformation).
  • Forgetting the power. The station is stored at −850 Energy per second.
