Uranium Location in The Planet Crafter (Map)
Uranium has 85 pins in the game files, on 2 planets. Toxicity has the most (53, 62 %). Next is Humble with 32.
The map opens on Toxicity, where most of the pins are (53). Other planets with Uranium: Humble (32).

Uranium by planet
85 Uranium pins in all, on 2 of the 5 planets. Prime and Selenea and Aqualis have none. Each link opens that planet's map with only this layer switched on.
| Planet | Pins | Share | Busiest part | Map |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toxicity | 53 | 62 % | south | Open Toxicity |
| Humble | 32 | 38 % | centre | Open Humble |
Which part of each planet
The game files give coordinates but no biome or area names for ore, so I cut each planet's map picture into nine equal parts (north-west to south-east, north at the top) and counted the pins in each. The parts are my grid, not names from the game. The last column is the middle of the pins in a planet's busiest part, in the world units the map popups show.
The picture is lopsided: Toxicity's busiest part (south) holds 27 of its 53 pins, and Humble's busiest part (centre) holds 32 of 32.
| Planet | Part | Pins | Middle of the busiest part |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toxicity | south | 27 | x -581, z -679 |
| Toxicity | centre | 26 | |
| Humble | centre | 32 | x 714, z -536 |
How to get Uranium
Every Uranium pin in the files reads "Mining speed x1.0", the same as every other ore pin, so no pin is slower or faster to mine than another. Go to a pin and mine it. 16 of the 85 pins are marked as spawn points instead: 8 on Humble read "spawns here with 70 % chance", 8 on Humble read "spawns here with 80 % chance". I read that as a pin which may be empty in a given save, so count on the others first.
The ore extractor is the other way in: the game's text for the T2 Ore Extractor reads "Extracts rarer ores from the ground", and the T1 reads "Extracts ores from the ground depending on where it's placed". The files do not list which ore each tier gives; the ore extractor guide has what they do state.
The map also has a separate Veins layer with 3 "Uranium vein" pins (Prime 2, Toxicity 1): Uranium vein layer. The files do not say how a vein differs from an ore pin, so I keep the two apart.
Other ways to get Uranium
Uranium also comes packed as the Uranium Rod: 9 Uranium, crafted at Station T3. The map has 9 loose Uranium Rods lying about (Humble 8, Toxicity 1), so a rod can be picked up without mining the ore it is made of: open that layer.
What Uranium is used for
6 recipes in the files list Uranium as an ingredient: 5 items and 1 buildings. The first ones are below; the rest are folded. Amounts are per craft as the files store them. Add any of them to the crafting calculator to see how much ore a build takes.
| Makes | Needs | Made at | Unlock (as stored) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uranium Rod | 9 Uranium | Station T3 | none stored |
| Rocket Engine | 2 Uranium | Station T3 | none stored |
| Pulsar Quartz | 1 Uranium | Bio lab or Quartz T1 | 175,000,000,000 Terraformation |
| Uraninite | 1 Uranium | no crafting station listed | none stored |
| Vehicle – Rover | 1 Uranium | Vehicle T1 | none stored |
| Shredder machine | 1 Uranium | built in the world | none stored |
Common mistakes
- Looking on Prime or Selenea or Aqualis. The files place no Uranium there.
- Trusting a part name from a video. My nine parts are a grid over the map picture, not the game's own areas; use the map pins, which are exact.
- Expecting new planets. These files are build 2.008 and the Skeo planet is not in them, so Uranium pins there are missing.
