Ore Extractor in The Planet Crafter: Steps

Four steps from the unlock to the first ore.

The files store the T1 Ore Extractor's unlock as 155,000 Pressure, T2's as 364,500,000 Pressure and T3's as 13,330,000,000 Pressure. These are Pressure values in raw game units, shown as stored; the planets page lists the stage names and their Terraformation thresholds, but the files do not map a Pressure number to a stage, so I cannot tell you which stage unlocks T1. Watch the Pressure meter in the game instead.

Each tier also adds to the planet while it runs: T1 is stored at pressure +15, heat +17.5, energy −34; T2 is stored at pressure +85, heat +79.5, energy −164; T3 is stored at pressure +135, heat +202, energy −289. Numbers are per second, as the files store them.

T1 is 2 Osmium, 1 Iridium Rod, 1 Super Alloy, 1 Aluminum, 1 Titanium. Counted down to raw materials that is 9 Iridium, 2 Aluminum, 2 Osmium, 2 Titanium, 1 Cobalt, 1 Iron, 1 Magnesium, 1 Silicon. Osmium is the ore to plan around, then Aluminum. Titanium is common: the map has a Titanium layer with thousands of pins.

All three tiers use at least one rod. The Iridium Rod is 9 Iridium, crafted at Station T3. The map also has 25 loose Iridium Rods lying about (Prime 14, Humble 11), which saves nine Iridium each: Prime pins. Where Iridium is.

Build the extractor on the ground you want to mine; the T1 text says it extracts ores "depending on where it's placed", so put it near the ore pins you found on the maps. The files do not list the ores per ground, so I cannot say which pin gives which ore.

Do not mix the extractor up with the T1 Ore Crusher. Its text reads "Breaks certain ores to extract multiple other ones from it"; its recipe is 3 Dolomite, 1 Magnesium, 1 Iron, 1 Titanium. It breaks ore you already have; it does not mine the ground.
