How to Pass the Inspection in My Summer Car
The inspection station charges 325 MK and runs 33 checks on your car, from the battery charge to the tyres. The car has to stand within 2 units of the inspection spot, on a weekday between 8:00 and 16:00. A pass lasts 28 days.

The inspection is the gate to two things: driving without a ticket and entering the rally. The script behind it is short, so it can be read check by check. These five steps go from the opening hours to keeping the sticker valid.

The 5 steps at a glance
Everything below is read from the inspection scripts of build v.231210-01; we have not play-tested the thresholds.
- Pick the right time. Weekday, 8:00 to 16:00.
- Fix the car. 33 checks in seven groups.
- Park and pay. 325 MK, within 2 units of the spot.
- Read the result. A mark for every failed item.
- Keep it valid. 28 days, letter on day 21.
Step 1: Pick the right time
The inspection station is about 90 metres from Teimo's store, on the shops layer. Its door script reads the in-game clock every two hours: it opens the shop at 8, 10, 12, 14 and closes it from 16:00 through to the early morning. On days 6 and 7 of the week the script's "Weekend" state keeps it shut all day.
Plan the day
The door flips at 16:00, so do not leave the drive for the last minutes of the window.
Step 2: Fix the car
The Inspect script walks through the car one part at a time and sets a fail flag for each part that does not pass. There are 33 flags. In seven groups:
- Electrics and lights. The battery has to be installed and charged to at least 80. Without working electrics the dashboard and all four lights fail at once. Headlights and rear lights must be installed, and the headlights bolted.
- Brakes. Brake efficiency has to reach 0.9, and the handbrake mount a tightness of 39.
- Steering. Column (15), rack (30) and both rods (7 each) have thresholds, the steering wheel must be fitted, and each front wheel's alignment must be within 0.1.
- Suspension. Trail arms and wishbones need 15 each, the rear shocks 23 and the front shocks 52; both rear coil springs must be fitted. The script also compares the rotation of each corner's parts with the undamaged position (tolerance 0.5), which is how crash damage fails the car.
- Body and safety. The body panels and dashboard parts must be installed, the windshield undamaged, the driver seat tight (28), the subframe tight (30) and the warning triangle within 3 units of the car.
- Engine and fuel. The engine and exhaust must be installed, the fuel line bolted, the fuel tank tight (55) and the gear linkage at 46. The emissions check wants an air-fuel mixture of at least 14.05 and each piston's wear value at least 10.
- Tyres. Two things: the tyre type must not be one of the ids 0, 3, 4 (the files do not name them), and each tyre's health must reach a limit drawn at random between 45 and 65.

What we could not read
The scripts store the numbers but not their units, so we cannot say what "tightness 52" looks like on a bolt. The warning triangle is a part in the order database with no shop price in the files we extracted. Which tyre types the ids 0, 3, 4 are, and what the headlights' wear value of 7 means, are not in the data either.
Step 3: Park and pay
At the station the order button shows "CAR INSPECTION, 325 MK". Pressing it first checks that the car stands within 2 units of the spot; if not you get "CAR NOT CORRECTLY POSITIONED", and without the money "NOT ENOUGH MONEY" (the script also plays a swearing sound for both). With both fine, the 325 MK is taken and the check runs.
Step 4: Read the result
The Results script turns on a mark for each failed item. If none is set the car passes ("Not sure what happened, your car passed."), the car is marked as inspected and your stress value drops by 25. If any is set the car fails and stress goes up by 45. Fix what the sheet marks and come back; each attempt costs the price again, because the order script takes it every time it runs.
No fix, no sticker
A car without an inspection is a listed ticket reason in the game's texts ("Vehicle offence. Unregistered car."), and the rally form refuses a car that is not inspected.
Step 5: Keep it valid
The script counts days since the last pass. On day 21 it sends you a letter, and at 28 days the inspection lapses and the car counts as not inspected again. Repair crash damage and worn tyres before the next trip, not at the station.
Common mistakes
- Going at the weekend. Days 6 and 7 are shut.
- Parking by eye. The position check is 2 units; the shop does not run the check from further away.
- Trusting a tyre that is only just good. The limit is random between 45 and 65 each time.
- Forgetting the warning triangle. It has its own flag and must be within 3 units of the car.
About these numbers
These are the start-of-game values in the files of build v.231210-01 (10 Dec 2023). Steam's latest build is v.250908-01 (8 Sep 2025), and its notes say some store prices keep rising as adverts are delivered, so prices and pay in the current game may differ.
The 33 checks and thresholds are those of the 2023 build; later patches may have moved them.
