   Scan them

   • The Tadpole recipe lists two unlock rules in the files: "Scan each individual piece (old/out of date)" and "Full scan dedicated fragment data".
   • The first is marked old in the file itself.
   • So scan the fragment data until the recipe appears.
   • The scan entry for the Tadpole fragment stores a required count of 0, so how many pieces you must scan is not in the files.

   Step 3

   Build a Vehicle Fabricator

   • The Vehicle Fabricator is a Habitat Builder piece.
   • Its recipe: 2 Titanium Ingot, 1 Copper Ingot, 2 Glass.

   Step 4

   Craft the Tadpole

   • At the Vehicle Fabricator the Tadpole takes 2 Titanium Ingot, 1 Glass, 1 System Chip, 1 Power Cell and 10 seconds.
   • The game describes it as: "Core module for "Tadpole" vehicular mobility and manipulation suite."

   Step 5

   Build a Tadpole Dock

   • The dock is another Habitat Builder piece: 2 Titanium Ingot, 1 Silver Ingot, 2 Copper Wire.
   • The files do not list a scan for it.

Common mistakes

• Looking for the Tadpole as a pickup. It is crafted, not found.
• Counting every fragment pin. The layer also holds biobed and biolab fragments; only the 15 named Tadpole fragment count here.
• Forgetting the chip and the power cell. Both are in the recipe.
