Sons of the Forest cheats FAQ

How do you open the console in Sons of the Forest?
There's no console prompt on screen. While in-game, type the word cheatstick (you don't need any text box — just type it), then press F1 to confirm it worked. From then on you can enter any console command. On non-US keyboard layouts you may need to add the US keyboard layout for the commands to register.
How do you spawn items in Sons of the Forest?
Use spawnitem or additem followed by the item's internal name or numeric ID — for example "spawnitem katana" or "additem 358" for the shotgun. This tool lists all 353 item IDs with a copy button, so you can grab the exact command. Note some unique items (most weapons, tools and outfits) can't be re-spawned once you've already picked them up.
What are the Sons of the Forest item IDs?
Every spawnable item has a numeric ID and an internal name that both work with spawnitem / additem / removeitem. This page indexes 336 working items across categories like Weapon, Tool, Resource, Food and Armor — search by name or ID and copy the command in one click.
How do you enable god mode in Sons of the Forest?
Type godmode on to become invincible, and godmode off to turn it back off. Related survival cheats include invisible on (enemies ignore you) and cavelight on (a bright light for exploring caves). All of these are in the Player and Common command tabs above.
Do console commands disable achievements or saving?
Console commands are enabled via the cheatstick method and are intended for single-player experimentation. They work on your normal save, but because they let you spawn items and toggle god mode, most players use them on a separate save or after finishing the game. Always keep a backup save before experimenting.
