My Summer Car Firewood Job: Pay and Steps
A man at Wood house 1 phones for "a flatbed load of firewoods". The Flatbed pays 20 MK for every firewood piece on it, capped at 3,200 MK, which takes 160 pieces. Unsplit logs fill the bed but add nothing to the price.

The firewood job is one of the most formula-driven payouts in the game, and the whole formula is in the Flatbed's script. These four steps run from the phone call to the cash.

The 4 steps at a glance
Pay and capacities are read from the Flatbed's log script; the chopping itself is not decoded.
- Wait for the call. By day, from Wood house 1.
- Get logs and split firewood. Ax in hand, at a logging spot.
- Load the Flatbed. 20 MK per piece, 3,200 MK at most.
- Tip the bed and take the money. The pay arrives when it is empty.
Step 1: Wait for the call
The order comes by phone: "Hello! I would like to buy a flatbed load of firewoods. You can deliver them any time!" The job script only places the call by day (it checks the night flag first), and after a delivery it waits out a cooldown before the next one. The cooldown is stored as a counter that we cannot turn into days. The customer is the house marked Wood house 1 on the jobs layer; his mailbox reads LIVALOINEN. The phone line says you can deliver "any time", so there is no deadline in the text.
Step 2: Get logs and split firewood
The files place a log wall with a chopping block at three spots: the home yard's machine hall, the cabin and the cottage (the cottage one is the Logging pin). The log wall shows "PICK LOG" while no log is out, and its script checks that the ax is in your hand first. Axes lie at the cottage (x -852, z 504) and in the home yard (x 52, z -72) at the start. The game counts "Logs chopped" on the death screen, so splitting is real work; the swing-by-swing rules are not in our data.
What the Flatbed counts
The bed only recognises two object names: firewood(Clone) and log(Clone). Anything else dropped on it is ignored.
Step 3: Load the Flatbed
The Flatbed keeps two counters. A firewood piece adds 10 to the load and 10 to the price points. A log adds 20 to the load and nothing to the price. The load is clamped at 1,600, and the price is the price points times 2, clamped to 3,200 MK.
So 160 firewood pieces fill the bed and pay 3,200 MK. Every unsplit log you leave on it takes the room of 2 pieces and costs you 40 MK.
| On the bed | Load points | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 10 firewood pieces | 100 | 200 MK |
| 80 firewood pieces | 800 | 1,600 MK |
| 160 firewood pieces | 1,600 | 3,200 MK |
| 80 logs | 1,600 | 0 MK |
Step 4: Tip the bed and take the money
At the customer, tip the bed. While it is tipped the script removes 100 load points every 0.2 seconds, and when the load is down to almost nothing it pays: the price is handed to an Animations script (the customer's, as far as we can tell), the counters reset and the job is marked done. Take the sum from his hand (the prompt reads "TAKE MONEY n MK"). Keep the bed up until the load is gone; the price is only set at the end.
Common mistakes
- Loading logs because they are easy. 80 logs fill the bed and pay 0 MK.
- Leaving without the cash. The money is taken by hand from the man, not paid automatically.
- Waiting for the phone at night. The job script checks the night flag before it calls.
About these numbers
These are the start-of-game values in the files of build v.231210-01 (10 Dec 2023). Steam's latest build is v.250908-01 (8 Sep 2025), and its notes say some store prices keep rising as adverts are delivered, so prices and pay in the current game may differ.
The firewood price formula is the one in the 2023 build's Flatbed script; later patches may have changed the cap or the rate.
