Bellwright Voting, Truth and Power Quest Guide
Bradford's election, and a main-story quest. The village's current elder, Patryk Sten, stands against a challenger, Hans Atwood. You interview both and cast a vote — and the vote decides which achievement you get: Heart of the Matter for voting Hans, Strings Attached for backing Patryk.

Before you start: Friend trust in Bradford
Most “the quest is broken” reports come down to one gate: players say the candidates, or their interviews, only appear once your trust in Bradford reaches Friend. The wiki records it as a player report, not as confirmed.
Ways players raise it: Bradford's side quests, and gifting Old Coins and Wolf Fangs to the elder. The wiki's Village Elder page lists what each gift is worth — Old Coin +30 trust, Stag Horns +10, Wolf Fang +5, Boar Tusk +5 — and reports a limit of about 50 gifts a day per village.
Walkthrough
The wiki notes that the journal's exact wording varies by patch; every step after the trust gate is marked there as “verify in-game”.
- Raise your trust in Bradford to Friend.
- Talk to Patryk Sten, the elder, in Bradford.
- Talk to Hans Atwood. One player reports he only turned up after they left Bradford and came back with more trust — if he is missing, return later.
- Go to the election at Bradford's village square and vote. Save first if you want both achievements: each playthrough gets one.
- Finish the quest in your journal, then talk to Amelie Felltoir in Haerndean to pick up the follow-up, A Different Outcome (reported).
Does your vote change who wins?
Players disagree. Some say Patryk wins whatever you do, others that Hans won in their save. The wiki treats the result as dependent on patch and save; what is consistent is the achievement, which follows your choice at the vote.
If it won't progress
- Only one candidate, or no one to vote with: raise Bradford trust and come back.
- Failed Bradford side quests — players name Wife's Wrath — can leave you short of trust, and then gifts are the way to make up the difference.
Not confirmed on the wiki
- Who gives the quest: Amelie Felltoir is a player report, not confirmed.
- The quest before it: the wiki gives Break free: Bradford, marked “verify in-game”.
- The exact journal objectives: none is confirmed word for word.
- Whether the vote changes Bradford's elder.
- What A Different Outcome needs from you: its giver is unconfirmed and its next step (Burning Stove: Part 1) is marked “confirm”.
