Subnautica Captain's Quarters Code and Aurora Codes

Game files, build 202415581 min read

The Captain's Quarters code is 2679. The game's PDA text also gives 6483 for the Lab Access door and 6666 for the robotics bay (the Prawn bay). No other Aurora door code is in the game data we read.

The Aurora has several keypad doors. The game's own PDA texts give the code of three of them. This page quotes each text, says where the Aurora and the Lab Access PDA are on our map, and says plainly what is not in the data.

The three codes

  • 2679Captain's Quarters, high security terminal
  • 6483Lab Access door
  • 6666robotics bay (Prawn bay)

Where each code goes

  1. Step 1

    Get to the Aurora wreck

    • 999x
    • 27z
    • 13pins nearby
    • The Aurora pin is at x 999, z 27, 13 m above sea level, in the Crash Zone. It stands for 245 placed parts of the wreck.
    • 13 of the map's 54 PDA pins lie within 250 m of the Aurora pin: the white dots in the picture, with the yellow L for Lab Access. Other white dots outside that radius are different PDAs.
    • The Aurora layer opens the wreck on the interactive map.
Open on the map: the Aurora
  2. Step 2

    Captain's Quarters: 2679

    • 2679code
    • Your PDA's entry "High Security Terminal - Captain's Quarters" reads: "There is a high security terminal inside the captain's quarters, located behind the Prawn bay, from which the blueprints should be accessible. The code is 2679."
    • The same code is spoken in the Alterra HQ radio call: "The code should be 2679." The game data does not say when the call plays.
    • The prize is the set of blueprints: "Alterra HQ uploaded a set of blueprints to the Aurora's main computer".
  3. Step 3

    Lab Access door: 6483

    • 6483code
    • 9 m below sea levelPDA pin
    • The PDA "Lab Access" is a pin on our map, 35 m east and 10 m south of the Aurora pin: open it.
    • Its text reads: "If you need to tweak your equipment please use the mod station in the forward section, or retrieve pre-configured equipment from the lab next door to the data coil. The door code is 6483."
    • So the Aurora has a working modification station in its forward section. You do not need to build your own to use it.
Open on the map: the Lab Access PDA
  4. Step 4

    Robotics bay: 6666

    • 6666code
    • Two PDA entries give it. "Robotics Bay Security" has CTO Yu suggesting: "How about 6666?" and "Non-essential Systems Maintenance Logs" lists "Robotics bay (access code 6666)".
    • The Aurora's signs call the room PRAWN BAY, and the Captain's Quarters PDA places the quarters "behind the Prawn bay". We read the robotics bay and the Prawn bay as the same room; the entries do not say so in so many words.
    • Neither of these two PDAs is among the 54 PDA pins on our map, so where to find them is not in the data we read.

Common mistakes

  • Looking for the code on the Captain's Log pin (11 m above sea level). It is a story log; the code is in the "High Security Terminal - Captain's Quarters" entry.
  • Hunting for other door codes here. Only these three are in the game's PDA texts we read. We do not know any other code, and a code you find elsewhere is not checked by this page.
  • Forgetting the first sentence of the entry. The terminal is "behind the Prawn bay", so go through the Prawn bay.

About these numbers

Every fixed place on this page is read from the game files of the Steam build 20241558 (3 October 2025). Anything that is rolled again for each new game, such as ore, is a chance model built from the game's spawner tables. It has not been checked in a running game, so treat it as odds, not as a map of what you will find.

The codes are read from the game's PDA entries and radio text; the Aurora and PDA positions are the map's pins (54 PDA pins in all).
