What's new in our Subnautica: Below Zero section

Every change we shipped to the Subnautica: Below Zero pages, maps and tools on PinDrop, newest first. Looking for what the game itself changed? That is a separate page where we track one..

  1. Resource probability overlay on the map

Spawn-chance heat maps for 17 random resources (limestone, quartz, lithium, diamond and more), off by default in the Resource probability section of the map panel. A model read from the game's spawner tables, not verified in a running game.

  2. Subnautica: Below Zero map opens

An interactive map built from the game files: a terrain render as the base, with 1,975 fixed pins on 33 layers, from PDAs and data boxes to ore outcrops and creature placements.

  3. A map page for every layer

Each of the 33 map layers opens on its own page, the full map with only that layer switched on, for example PDA locations, data box locations and titanium locations.

  4. Crafting, blueprints and PDA log hubs

Three data hubs read from the game files: 231 named crafting recipes (108 more table entries have no name in the game and are listed by file id), 18 data boxes with the fragment scan rules, and all 67 PDA logs by area.

  5. Cave entrances, thermal vents and leviathans

New layers from the game files: 76 cave entrances, 78 thermal activity spots, 14 leviathans and 103 edible plants and seeds.
