Solo, every fight is a 1v1. Builds that depend on a partner (pure DPS glass cannons, pure healers) fall apart. The best solo picks are flexible sustain hybrids:

Multi-Shot Bowmaster (Ranger) — kite-and-headshot loop trivialises overworld content; pure DEX scaling future-proofs through endgame. Tier S for solo.
